A community can be a place, or a group of people. Either way, a community is where you feel like you “belong” to a group of people
who share your interests, goals and attitudes. You also share the same language (slang, for example), manners, and traditions.Our families are our fi rst and smallest communities. As we get older, we branch out and become involved in church, school, clubs. Before long, we belong to many overlapping communities!
1. Draw a Venn diagram of the communities in your life (family and school are already drawn in for you);
2. show how your communities are related by touching, enclosing, or overlapping shapes;
3. Include clubs, sport teams, hobbies, cliques, ethnic groups at home, school, town, church or temple, even online.
