Residents were interested in learning more about airport expansion plans, noiseimpacts and how new development will impact the natural environment andanimal habitat within their broader community.
Others wanted to get more information on how Brown’s Cove and Beaver DamCreek would be protected and what measures would be taken for water qualitymonitoring as well as access to water, sewer and natural gas for existing lake fronthomes.
Some residents wanted to ensure that the development teams are working withother local agencies and departments such as the River keeper, Parks &Recreation or the utilities departments.
Residents from the Sadler Road area inquired about annexation, impacts to theirspecific road and the potential for reconstruction.
Some individuals inquired about access to the proposed trail system.
A number of residents expressed interest in more parks with both formal and naturalareas. There were many positive comments made related to the proposed river frontamenity area and the network of open spaces.
A breakout session related the road improvements that go along with Phase Iresulted in some questions. Some residents expressed a preference to see roadconstruction occur all at once as opposed to 2 lanes and then another 2 lanes.
There was some discussion regarding improving the I-485/West Blvd interchangealong with new West Blvd extension to Dixie River Road (new intersection) aswell as the creation of a new intersection with the realignment of Garrison Roadto connect with West Blvd extension at a new intersection.
When asked about West Blvd east of I-485, it was explained that West Blvd maybe relocated south to make room for the new N/S runway at the airport and thatdevelopers are working with the airport regarding the possible realignment inconjunction with a future modified interchange.
There were some questions on street cross-sections and residents were pleased tolearn about multi-modal bike lanes that are planned.
