BACKGROUND – Remedial Amendments

• Remedial Amendments are result of Settlement Agreement to bring NCOA, Old Brick Township & Neoga Lakes Comp Plan Amendments and DRIs into compliance

• Settlement Agreement Approved by City Council on June 7, 2011 Public Hearing

• City Council Approved Remedial Amendments (1st reading) June 7, 2011

Remedial Amendments - NCOA– Amendments are clarification & are not substantial

• Provide references to existing policies• Incorporate development criteria in FLUM amendments

within NCOA• Environmental management objectives are based on

environmental characteristics• Development will implement standards developed in HMP• Identify Management Entity for conservation easement• Coordination to protect Matanzas River Basin

Remedial Amendments - OBT• Required Amendments

– Include development standards • mix of uses in the Village Center of the DRI, • clustering of residential units within the Urban Village, • residential mix in the Urban Village, and • coordinate roadway corridors that go into St. Johns County,

and

– adoption of the Developable Areas Map (Map CP-1.7) as part of the Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map Series (insert map)
