CCSNH Overview

• 7 colleges & 3 academic centers (Berlin, Littleton, Laconia, Claremont, Keene, Concord, Manchester, Nashua, Portsmouth, Rochester)

• Associate degrees and certificates

– Workforce training

– Transfer (about 1/3 transfer each year)

• Serve 27,000 students annually

– 93% are from NH; 40% are adults over 24

– Enrollment doubled since 2000

• Partner with businesses & industry

• Separate system, not part of USNH

• Self-governing (not a state agency)

CCSNH Priorities

• Advance Educational and Economic Opportunity and Contribute to Strong NH Economy

– 65 by 25: Increase % NH adults with postsecondary education & training

– Associates Degree holders earn 28% above high school grads in NH

• Provide Higher Education Access and Affordability

– Reduced community college tuition in 2014

– Goal of FY16-17 budget request was to further reduce tuition

• Create pathways for students from K-12, to college and on to careers

• Focus on high-need fields: e.g., advanced manufacturing, IT, healthcare, career & technical education

• Serve different regions of the state

• Partner with Businesses and Industry and Professional Groups (e.g., APICS)

CCSNH Strategic Goal: CCSNH will work with our partners to increase the number of adults in New Hampshire with higher education degrees and certificates to 65% by the year 2025.

• Access: Campuses are convenient and close to home. 2nd largest number of online college courses in NH.

• Affordability: College tuition is one-third lower than other colleges in New Hampshire

• Career-readiness: Degrees and certificates in dozens of in-demand careers and fields. Industry alignment and partnerships.

• Transferability: Transfer and articulation agreements with USNH, SNHU, many others

Advanced Manufacturing Focus: AMPed/TAACCT

• Six new advanced manufacturing associate degrees and 15 new certificates, from Advanced Composites Manufacturing and CNC Programming to Robotics and Precision Welding

• 215 online manufacturing-related courses• We’ve formed new partnerships with more than 100 businesses

and organizations across the state • In approximately 3 years trained 8,000 individuals.

– Many were hired before they completed their programs

• New state-of-the-art Advanced Technologies & Academic Center in Rochester, supporting the growing composites manufacturing industry in the state in a special partnership with Albany and Safran Aerospace and other State of NH partners

CCSNH Running Start: Dual Enrollment

• Running Start is an award winning partnership that gives high schools students the opportunity to take courses for concurrent (dual) high school and college credit

• CCSNH colleges offer dual enrollment courses in over 93 high schools and adult learning centers across NH for $150.00 per course

• CCSNH Running Start course enrollments grew by about +15% in 2014

• Computer Programming Certificate with GBCC and Portsmouth HS

- Programming certificate in 1 year of high school plus 1

semester of community college– Programming associate degree in 2 years of high school

- GBCC Awarded the 2010 APICS Business Partner of the Year recognition

- The CPIM Credential can be the technical core for the Technical Studies Associate Degree program http://greatbay.edu/courses/degree-programs/technical-studies-associate-in-science
