Preface
This conference proceedings volume contains the written versions of the con-tributions presented during the Third International Conference on Advancesin Computing, Communication and Control (ICAC3), which is a biennial con-ference. As in the previous years, the conference was held at Fr. ConceicaoRodrigues College of Engineering, Mumbai, India, during January 18–19, 2013.
The conference provided a setting for discussing recent developments in awide variety of topics including image processing, artificial intelligence, robotics, wireless communications, data warehousing and mining etc. The conference gavea good opportunity to participants coming from India, South Korea, Bangladesh, and Iran to present and discuss topics in their respective research areas.
Every submitted paper went through a rigorous review process; one non-blindreview to check the suitability of the paper for the conference followed by threeblind reviews out of which two were by experts and the third by peer authors. In case of contradictory reviews, additional reviews were commissioned. Afterthis feedback was received, the three Program Committee members discussedany pending issues and provided a recommendation on acceptance and finaldecisions were made.
The 69 papers that were presented on the two days formed the heart of theconference and provided ample opportunity for discussion. The papers were splitalmost equally between the three main conference areas, i.e., computing, com-munication, and control. All presented papers are included in this proceedingsvolume published by Springer.
As organizers, we have many people to thank for their support in making theconference successful. The fruitful outcome of the conference was the result ofa well-coordinated effort of the Program and Technical Committee members aswell as the Advisory Committee. It is our pleasure to acknowledge the publicationsupport from Springer. Special thanks to our Organizing Committee, who putimmense effort into making the conference successful. We thank all the authorswho submitted papers. It was a privilege as well as a great responsibility tooversee the reviewing of their papers. All in all, ICAC3-13 in Mumbai was verysuccessful. The next ICAC3 will take place in Mumbai in 2015. We hope that itwill be as interesting and enjoyable as its three predecessors.
