And we have proposed the following ideas/strategies for the company  Proposed URL/Domain name www.toys4kidsinv.org

Implementing a database system to store all members details & for stock inventory using MYSQL with VB.Net front end and WebPages will be developed using PHP language.

Developing an intranet and internet website which contains all the forms to communicate internally and externally

Currently the library accepts only cash and staffs in the library having discrepancies in having cash at the premises therefore we will implement a system in the company website where customers can pay via the website 24/7

By implementing these systems 95% of the paper works will be eradicated, efficient and the company expects major developments in membership and lending toys The company will be hosting in the fast growing social media networks such as Facebook, Myspace, YouTube and Twitter

Shopping cart system - A shopping cart is a piece of software that acts as an online store which store's catalogue and ordering process.

Typically, a shopping cart is the interface between a company's Web site and its deeper infrastructure,

allowing consumers to select merchandise; review what they have selected; make necessary modifications or additions; and purchase the merchandise.

Shopping carts can be bought as independent pieces of software so companies can integrate them into their own unique online solution, or they can be offered as a feature from a service that will create and host a company's e-commerce site.

Proposed Ideas for Implementation

Analysis of audienceWho can use the toy library?

There are toys in the library from birth to fifteen years old. But the library is accessible for almost everybody and any one can borrow toy for their loved one.

Anyone can use the toy library

Parents – mum/dad, grandparents, aunty, uncle, family friends, etc.

The toy library is open to all family or friends/ people who are caring for children.

Demand

kids are quickly getting fed up with playing with the same toys again n again and they prefer varieties all the time and so on the demand for our toys increase therefore we always make sure that we have sufficient amount of toys to fulfil all the kinds needs.

CompetitionIn the target market of toy library, there is a tough competition. As the number of competitors increase, the cost of fighting them usually goes up. More money must be spent on advertising.

According to Kuratko (2009)

“The greater the competition, the less the business chance of earning large profits.”

Competition Elaborated Further Below

Page 5: Communication Presentation - Final

Direct competition:The company is facing direct competition from ‘The Salvation Army’ shop which is situated at Tay Street, Invercargill.

This is a charity shop, selling toys at very low cost into the same market. So the customers will prefer to buy toys instead of hiring on the same price.

The company’s new strategy i.e. e-communication will help to enhance its sale and will support to reach more customers as compare to its direct competitor, which is still not having the same communication technique.

Indirect competition:There are some more toy shops in the same market, which are prompting indirect competition to toy library as well. ‘Invercargill Toy world’ and ‘Baby City’ are 2 main toy shops from them in the target market. Invercargill Toy world: - It is situated at 181 Dee Street, Invercargill, which is delivering a wide range of toys into the market and also selling its product, through e-commerce on its website www.toyworld.co.nz. But having high price range of its products, it is not competing directly to the toy library. Baby City: - It is another toy shop, situated at 71 Spey Street, Invercargill, which is providing complete range of baby products including garments and toy etc. So customer can do there complete shopping for their kids over there. But again having its high price range of products, it is giving indirect competition to the toy library.

What is RSS?

Short for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary, this handy service is revolutionizing the way we search for content.

In addition, us web searchers don't necessarily have to keep checking back to any particular site to see if it's been updated - all we need to do is subscribe to the RSS feed,

much like you would subscribe to a newspaper, and then read the updates from the site, delivered via RSS feeds, in what's called a "feed reader." (We'll get to feed readers in just a minute!)

How Does E-Commerce WorkHow Does e-Commerce Work?

A customer goes through your on-line catalogue, selects the items she wants, goes to the checkout page, enter her credit card number, and clicks the submit button. What happens between clicking the submit button and seeing the purchase confirmation page?

In fact, what happens is remarkably similar to what happens when someone gives a waiter their credit card at a restaurant or gives their credit card over the phone to a mail-order company. There are some critical differences, however.

Here's a quick summary of the process:

The information about the purchase (items selected, name, address, phone number, credit card number) is encrypted and sent via a secure connection to the web site transaction server.

The transaction server sends the credit card information over a private line to the card-processing system, which issues an "Accept" or "Decline" for that transaction.

This card-processing system is the same one a restaurant or mail-order company uses to authorize a purchase.

Once the transaction server gets an "Accept" on the credit card, it submits the order to the company ordering system and another confirmation to the customer.

Different Types of E-Commerce

Payment Processing Steps

1. A consumer visits your website and uses your online store to make a purchase.

2. The transaction is conducted over a secure connection (SSL) to your web hosting server.

3. Payment Processing Gateway handles the secure, real time encrypted credit card information and co-ordinates the transaction

4. Merchant account processes the movement of funds

5. Funds are debited from the consumers credit card account

6. Funds are deposited into your designated bank account

Domain-the most recognized system for assigning addresses to Internet web servers ("Internet hosts"). Somewhat like international phone numbers, the domain name system helps to give every Internet server a memorable and easy-to-spell address.

Firewall-An enterprise with an internet that allows its workers access to the wider Internet installs a firewall to prevent outsiders from accessing its own private data resources and for controlling what outside resources its own users have access to.

Server-A server is primarily a program that runs on a machine, providing a particular and specific service to other machines connected to the machine on which it is found.

Payment Gateway-Payment gateways link the virtual terminal ("buy" page) to the merchant account and the credit card organization securely. This protects the credit card data and any other personal information from being exposed to computer hackers.

Data encryption refers to mathematical calculations and algorithmic schemes that transform plaintext into cyphertext, a form that is non-readable to unauthorized parties. The recipient of an encrypted message uses a key which triggers the algorithm mechanism to decrypt the data, transforming it to the original plaintext version.

E-Security Plan

The importance

In the world of electronic commerce, security is paramount. Use of e-communication is also having threats of some kind of virus attack and security risks. So the company will focus on security to improve its services and avoid risks. The company will consider on following security policies: -

Web Pages & Database

PHP-"Hypertext Pre-processor", is a computer language which we will be using to create dynamic Web pages.

My SQL - MySQL is a freely available open source Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) that uses Structured Query Language (SQL).

SQL is the most popular language for managing content in a database. It is most noted for its quick processing, proven reliability, ease and flexibility of use and

with front end GUI system which will also be linked with the website so that the staff can update their website contents or access the database from anywhere anytime they want.

Network Security System

We will be running this operating system in our server to tighten up our

security.

Windows 2008 Server OS

Microsoft ISA Firewall Server

Cute FTP – for files transfer to the web domain

M daemon – Mail Server

Identification and Authentication

I & A is the process to verify and recognize the valid users and processes. This information is generally used to determine the acceptable users or process, which will be allowed to access. It follows the given policies:

Augmenting password logins Users will be asked to identify an image, which is pre chosen category by the user and after identifying the image and then user will be asked to enter alphanumeric password.

“Security of documents and files, and protecting the network from viruses, are major concerns for companies.”

E-Security PlanContinued...

Password Management

Passwords and user ID’s will be unique.

Passwords will have minimum 8 characters with at least 2 digits.

Passwords will be kept private by the organisation.

Passwords will be changed after every 90 days.

Accounts will be frozen after 3 failed logon attempts.

Sessions will be suspended after 15 minutes; if there will be no activity.

Successful logons accounts will be displayed with last logon date and time.

The VeriSign Trust Seal

assures shoppers that a site is both secure and trusted. Viewed up to 250 million times a day on over 90,000 Web sites and in 160 countries, the VeriSign seal has become the most recognised trust mark on the Internet.

Online shoppers extend their trust in VeriSign to your site when you display the VeriSign Trust Seal on your secured Web site because:

The site is secured with VeriSign SSL, issued by the leading Certificate Authority worldwide.

VeriSign has verified the identity of the business and their right to use the Web site domain name.

The Web site has passed a daily malware scan.

PayPal

It is a secure and most popular way of payment on internet.

PayPal is a safer, simpler way to send and receive money online. You can pay for items you buy on eBay as well as on hundreds of other leading retail websites, or you can use PayPal to send money quickly and safely to anyone with an email address.

You can pay with money held in your PayPal account balance or use another payment method such as a credit card, debit card or your bank account. Once you sign up for a PayPal account, you just need to select PayPal as your payment method when you shop online.

Websites that accept PayPal will show the PayPal logo in their checkout. You will be asked to log in to your account with your email address and password to confirm the payment. PayPal never shares your financial information with sellers or retailers.

Digital Signatures and Certificates

Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects your web site and makes it easy for your web site visitors to trust you in three essential ways:

New Zealand Legal AspectsLaws to be considered while implementing E-communication

Government regulations on the E-commerce and the Electronic Transaction Act (ETA)The Electronic Transactions Act and the Electronic Transactions Regulations come into force on 21 November 2003.

The ETA does three things in order to facilitate the use of electronic technology:

it confirms that electronic methods of communication are legally effective

it sets default rules for the time and place of dispatch and receipt of electronic communications (whether or not the communications are used to meet a legal requirement) and

It provides that certain paper-based legal requirements may be met by using electronic technology that is functionally equivalent to those legal requirements.

Conclusion

E-communication has shrinked the whole world in to a one small village which also can be known as Globalization. Latest technologies, advance computers & electronic devices such as smart phones has made the life even easier to communicate and it has changed our lifestyle to a 24/7 culture.

Advancement in telecommunication and latest networks or Latest inventions like Social media networks has bought our life to be online at all the time and they have become our life blood nowadays incidents happened anywhere in the world could be know thorough out the world by the time of blink of an eye.

Computerised electric telecommunications have created a global village in terms of the immediacy within which people across the world can share conversations, televised pictures, and interactive software on VDU’s, maps, graphics, and circuits. The process of making decisions, dealing with banks, working culture and processing transaction has also increased in speed due to the instant access to databanks of information held in huge mainframe computer memory banks.

By analysing these statements we would like to conclude our presentation stating that not any single person or business can survive without communicating and e-communication made our life convenient, easier and faster.

Every organisation must have their E-communication

strategy,
