The Burgeoning International City

Singapore is an International City. With our only resource being our fellow country men, we have survived and flourished exactly as a result of this focus on connecting ourselves to the international community through both physical and human capital. But are we doing enough?

The roadblocks keeping us from reaching this ideal are easily observable: Xenophobia. Rhetorics questing our national identity. Even socio-academic segregation early on within our own school systems. Blinkered, rote learning.

We have to do more to stay relevant in an increasingly globalized landscape, and to kickstart our 50 year legacy, it starts with first preparing our youth to be global citizens ready to challenge the international frontier.
