Here in your hands is a booklet that has the potential to be the gateway to an amazing year at Cedo Nulli, with fantastic new people to meet, exclusive competences to develop and unique experiences to gather! Whether you are a first-year student, or a student who has been around for longer, Cedo Nulli offers you a year full of new and fun experiences again. Being part of this association has for many years and for many people been the best way to experience the full spectrum of student life! We, the board, hope to offer that to you!

Studying hard to achieve the best possible version of yourself is what all students strive for. Yet, what many employers and former students recommend is to not only study, but also to develop yourself in different ways. Cedo Nulli, the faculty association of the ESSB, exists exactly for this. Membership offers you the

possibility to develop yourself through a large variety of ways. We offer study groups, internships, study trips both abroad and locally, and interesting events related to your field of study. Besides that, we are known to throw some of the best parties at this university. We offer you the whole package!

If you get selected as a committee member, you will get the opportunity to work with a team on the type of events that are assigned to the committee. You will also get to know all the other committee members, share experiences together and form close friendships. And to top it off, committee members can go on exclusive weekend breaks and join the Battle of the Committees! Besides this, we will also help you in your professional development: we organize different workshops throughout the year, you are able to connect with potential employers, and follow training courses. Alumni committee

The Alumni Committee consists of alumni of the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences. Master students can also apply for this committee. You will mainly organise activities for other alumni, such as exclusive drinks. As a member of this committee, we challenge you to come up with interesting activities for alumni and to turn these ideas into a success. Besides the drinks you will also organize a bigger event in cooperation with the faculty to help alumni grow in their career. Definitely think about joining this committee if you are an ambitious alumnus or an alumna and still want to be active at Cedo Nulli.

Everyone hopes to land that one dream job. Or if you’re not entirely sure yet, getting a taste of potential possibilities would really help, right? This committee organizes amazing skills training courses, essential workshops, and in-house days at the best employers of various fields of study. If you’re ambitious, a real ‘go-getter’, and want to leave university with a large network of contacts, then this is the perfect committee for you!

The Community Committee is a committee for the people around you. Are you creative, caring, and an achiever? Then the Community Committee is the perfect committee for you. You will be busy with raising money for an organization of your choice that helps the community through various creative activities. Can you make money move? Apply for this committee!

This committee is responsible for two big things: the Destination Unknown weekend and the ‘Dies Natalis’. The former is a short trip to an unknown location in the first part of the year. The destination will remain unknown for the participants until you get there!The Dies Natalis is a mix of several activities and festivities to celebrate the birthday of Cedo Nulli! As a member of this committee, you will have an amazing time and create some of the most memorable moments of the year.

Being a freshman means that you have a year full of new experiences and people ahead of you, which is amazing but also a bit daunting. That’s why the freshmen committee is great for first year-students! You’ll get to work together with fellow freshmen and organize activities that help other freshmen find their way in Rotterdam and getting to know each other. This committee also is responsible for organizing the annual Parentday and the Freshmen Weekend in the beginning of the new academic year. Thus, all together an amazing committee in which you’re guaranteed to have a great time!

The International Committee is a diverse committee of internationals and Dutch students, that is aimed directly at our international members. The committee offers help integrating into Dutch society, offers study-related events, and hangouts and drinks for internationals! Do you already know Dutch society like the back of your hand, or do you want to know it and do you want to organize great activities for internationals? Then we want you, mr. or ms. Worldwide!

This is a broad committee that focuses on an equally broad range of subjects. You will get to organize activities such as publectures, a symposium, a pubquiz and many more! Are you motivated to organize activities around these three different studies and would you also like to organize a trip to Brussels? If you think that these kind of activities fit you then do not hesitate and sign up for this committee!

This is a new, or actually a reformed committee. Times are changing fast in the online media world, so we have to keep up, right! Are you creative and do you go with the times of fast developing new media? Then the Media Committee is the perfect fit for you! Being part of this committee gives you the opportunity to make podcasts and to do video-interviews with people about subjects that engage students. If you are the creative type, tech-savvy on things all video, or a great speaker, you will definitely feel at home in this committee! Since the Media Committee is a new committee and does not consist of the regular functions, feel free to ask the board for more information!

The Party Committee consists of people who truly are the life of the party. This year, we challenge you to use all your creativity to come up with party events that fit the restrictions due to COVID-19. On top of that, this committee is also in charge of making the yearbook. Do you know your way around the logistics of big events, can you excite others through various ways of promotion and maintain Cedo Nulli as the study association with the best parties? MUN stands for Model United Nations. This committee is a derivative of our prestigious NMUN-project, which is also worth looking into for. The MUN Committee organizes events where you learn about public speaking, negotiating techniques, lobbying, writing official documents, and many more skills taught in the NMUN-project. You will be setting up events aimed at offering students both a taste of the real NMUN-project as well as valuable skills for the rest of their lives. If this sounds interesting to you, then you are the right person for this committee!

This Committee revolves entirely around Pedagogical Sciences students. You get to organize field trips to various interesting institutions, a symposium and workshops that directly relate to your field of study. If you are a passionate pedagogical sciences student, then you are the one we are looking for!

Are you a Psychology student who lost his or her heart this amazing field of research, then you definitely need to keep on reading. This committee organizes trips, a symposium and various lectures on very interesting topics that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Are you not a-freud to take on this challenge, then we want you!

Are you up for a challenging committee? Do you want to help your fellow students with their orientation in the workfield by organizing a week full of career related activities, such as workshops, lectures, and other events? For one year, you will work together with your committee members to make this week a huge success. Give your cv a major boost by applying for this committee! Please keep in mind that this committee will require somewhat more effort than the other committees, but pays off tremendously. Also, you will receive a certificate for your participation in this committee.

Are you motivated to organize a mix of sporty and social activities? Are you creative enough to come up with new events in these areas? If so, then you will definitely feel at home in the Sports and Activities Committee! During the year, you will organize different activities and also our annual Ski-Trip! You, as a member of the Study Trip committee will make sure 50 students will have a week they will never forget with all their fellow students. In this committee you organise a week-long trip to an interesting location abroad, filled with study-related activities, cultural exploration and obviously with amazing parties. The Secretary focuses on writing the minutes during a meeting. This is an important task: the committee depends on you to read what they need to do. Besides this, you will be answering most of the e-mails your committee gets and processing the subscriptions for activities. Secretary mostly is more of a back-ground role but in most committees you can do some other tasks as well. So would you like to be the backbone in a committee? Become the Secretary!

As the Chairman of a committee you are expected to guide the committee on the right track. You make sure that things get taken care of, that communication stays clear and that the board supervisor is up-to-date on the current state of affairs. Keep in mind that as a chairman you have more responsibilities than other members of the committee. So are you a responsible person who is capable of keeping an overview of what’s going on? Chairman is the way to go!

As the Treasurer of your committee, you will be responsible for the budget. You will learn how to make an estimate and in the beginning of the year you will prepare an estimate for your committee. Sometimes it will be a real challenge and puzzle to let everything fit in the budget, but that’s also the fun part. It’s also your job to keep an eye on your committee members, so they won’t spend too much (or too little) money!

The Commissioner of Promotion is responsible for the promotion of the events a committee organizes. You will promote the event and write a little piece of text to put on Facebook, create flyers and promotional video’s (in programs such as Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) for an activity, and so much more!If you are outgoing, creative, have a lot of marketing strategies and all in all feel like you were born to be a Commissioner of Promotion, then search no more, apply for this position now!

As a CER you will be responsible for all outgoing contact that is not related to the university. In addition, you will be responsible for adding more contacts to the commercial relations system. Moreover, using these contacts you can come up with ideas for acquisition. In other words: if you add a lot of contacts and have a good plan of action, your committee may get their hands on extra budget! So, do you want to learn how to lobby and present yourself? Then we want you!

The Cohesion Commissioner is not an independent position, but an added task for a person chosen within your committee. A cohesive group is a productive group! This task consists of creating more cohesion within the committees, monitoring it, and finally addressing it if necessary through a round of honesty. Promoting more cohesion can be achieved by organizing activities for the committee to undertake together. Not only after cohesiveness is reduced, but also preventively.

Just like the Cohesion Commissioner, the International Commissioner is not an independent position, but an added task for a person chosen within your committee. The International Commissioner will make sure all the events a committee organizes, are also attractive to international students. Finally, the International Commissioners will encourage other members to make English the main spoken language at their activities when there are internationals present. So do you like to create social contacts and do you want that your activities will be the most visited activities? Then you are the right person for this challenge!

applyAs you might have read, this booklet contains the information about all the committees of Cedo Nulli. Did you get enthusiastic after reading about it all? Do you see yourself as one of Cedo Nulli’s highly esteemed committee members? Do you want to have a year full of fun, get to know new people and learn new skills? If the answer is yes, then we really recommend you to apply now!

The application procedure isn’t a very complicated one. First of all, you will have to be a member of Cedo Nulli in order to be eligible to be a committee member. If, and when you become a member, you can fill out the application form.This form is available on our website www.cedonulli.nl. Don’t rush filling out the form and take your time, since this helps us get the right people in the right places!Applications that testify of little effort and motivation will unfortunately be dismissed due to a limited amount of positions on committees.

After having received the application form, a board member will call you to let you know whether you’re invited for an interview within a few weeks. This interview will approximately be 15 to 20 minutes.
