Characteristics: • Commercial WPM is suitable for use for both internal and external waterproofing. • It is water based and safe to use with minimum odour. • For Green Building requirements - Commercial WPM is solvent free and suitable for confined areas. • It also meets the benchmark for VOC’s in the Green Building Council of Australia Ratings. • Commercial WPM complies with AS4858:2004 Q(Internal membranes) and AS4654.1:2012 (external membranes) as a Class Ill Elastomeric liquid applied membrane. • Commercial WPM may be used as an undertile exposed trafficable pedestrian membrane) and can also be used as an exposed membrane for light foot traffic applications. • Commercial WPM does not require the use of reinforcing fabric and is UV resistant. • It can be used over concrete, F/C sheet, plasterboard, timber and most building materials. • It can also be used above or below floor screeds. Preparation: • All concrete should have a wood float finish and be cured for at least 6 weeks prior to waterproofing. • Rendered surfaces should be allowed to cure for at least 7 days weeks prior to waterproofing. • All fibre cement sheets, compressed fibre cement, plasterboard structural particle board and plywood must comply with the relevant building code and be fixed in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. • All surfaces must be clean, dry, free of excessive movement, oil, dust grease, curing compounds, paint and any other loose or contaminating materials. • The surface must be smooth with no protrusions or major irregularities. • All screws and nail heads must be sealed with epoxy or a suitable sealant, (do not use acid cured silicones or waterbased products). • Hairline cracks may be filled with the first coat of Commercial WPM. Cracks up to 2mm and control joints should be filled with a suitable sealant like neutral cure silicone or P/U construction sealant and then be taped using a 50mm wide, fabric reinforced duct tape. Internal sheet joints should also be treated in the same way. • For interior concrete, render, uncoated F/C sheet and other interior absorbent substrates, use RLA Universal primer as a primer before using Commercial WPM. • Allow to dry for about 15-30 minutes. • For exterior concrete or for coated waterproof type external or internal F/C sheet use one coat of Dryflex Moisture Barrier water based epoxy as the primer. • If the concrete contains moisture use 2 coats of Dryflex Moisture Barrier (see Dryflex Moisture Barrier Data Sheet) to form an hydrostatic membrane. • Allow to dry for at least 16 hours at 25°C before applying Commercial WPM. Preparation: (continued) • At wall floor junctions, apply neutral silicone or polyurethane sealant (do not use acid cured silicone or water based sealants) to form a radiused fillet of at least 25mm diameter creating a bond breaker of at least 15mm. • Allow the sealant to “surface dry’’ before applying membrane. • On external concrete all parrapets, joints and penetrations should be detailed as described in AS4654.2:2012 - External Waterproofing. • On external sheeting, consult the manufacturers recommendations for any special instructions regarding priming and jointing, otherwise prepare in accordance with AS4654. Application: • Commercial WPM should be applied in accordance with AS3740:2010forinternal applications and in accordance with AS4654.2:2009 for external applications. • After preparing the substrate as above, use a paintbrush, roller or airless spray system to apply 2 or 3 heavy coats allowing the product to completely dry between coats. • The coating should form a seamless film that comes down the wall, across the floor and into the waste. Inspect each coat for pinholes, bubbles or defects and repair on next coat. • On flat balconies, membrane should extend over the edge and around to the drip mould. • Dry film thickness for under tile applications should be about 1.00mm after 2 coats. For use as a trafficable membrane, film thickness should be 1.5mm after 3 coats. • Protect the membrane from water, bad weather and damage until it is fully cured. Do not tile or lay screed over membrane until it is fully cured. • If water seal testing is required for more than 1 hour, allow membrane to re-dry for an extra day after draining. COMMERCIAL WPM Dryflex fibre reinforced • Waterbased polyurethane waterproofing membrane • Undertile membrane for bathrooms, balconies • Does not require reinforcing tape • Fast drying and UV stable • Complies with AS4858:2004 Class III TEN YEAR GUARANTEE
