Baker’s Crust
Welcome to Baker’s Crust - Eat Well. Be Happy. At Baker’s Crust, we have been lovingly and carefully preparing food for our Hampton Roads friends and neighbors for over 20 years. We believe that to truly eat well and be happy, you need to start with quality ingredients. That’s why our chefs start every day baking 19 varieties of delicious bread using a thirty year old natural starter and zero preservatives. We also make our own mozzarella cheese, roast our own tomatoes, grow our own basil on a hydroponic farm and toss our classic salads with dressings made using our own recipes. When you order one of our classic wood-fired specialties, you’ll experience a richness and depth to your food that can only be brought forward by a 900 degree oven and an ancient cooking technique.
Our head chef is constantly experimenting with fresh foods and flavors and seeking ways to meet the needs of our community. We recently added new menu items, added more vegetarian and vegan choices and unveiled a new gluten-free menu.

Burger Bach
Welcome to Burger Bach (pronounced batch), a New Zealand inspired gastronomical public house, or “gastro pub.” Our specialty is gourmet burgers, so we have travelled extensively to find the best tasting and most humanely raised beef. Our quest led us to New Zealand, where we met the farmers of Silver Fern Farms, saw the farms and mingled with the animals. There, our Angus steer and our lamb are sustainably raised on plentiful natural grasses, under beautiful skies and treated with the kindest and gentlest of care. The fowl in our “other signature burgers” are free to roam with no added hormones, antibiotics or steroids, and the fish and shrimp are caught in the wild – not artificially “farm raised.” New Zealand’s conscientious treatment of its natural resources, and laid back lifestyle inspired us to use the settings of a “bach,” or holiday (vacation) home, in which to entertain you with a unique, healthy, guilty-free dining experience or as we like to say “intelligent indulgence.” So, “get away” from life’s daily regimen and let us know the answer to the question, “are we there yet?

Capital Ale House
With a few exceptions, Richmond Virginia in 2002 was a beer desert. A few local microbreweries and a small tap house or two were all that beer enthusiasts in the city had to turn to.
It was in May of that year that Matt Simmons, General Manager of the Legend Brewing Company Pub, noticed a “For Lease” sign in the window at 623 East Main Street. After inspecting the building he reported the find to his other beer enthusiast friends Mike and Linda Jones and Chris Holder, the later of who also managed the Legend Pub. The space sparked an idea in these beer-lovers’ heads, and after a few days of planning the gang was determined to transform that 25’ wide by half-a-city-block long space into Richmond’s beer oasis.
The company has been very lucky to have such a great staff on hand from the very beginning to help in the expansion making Capital Ale House what it is today.

Julep’s
Amy Ayers, the proprietor, opened Julep’s New Southern Cuisine in July, 2003. She has beautifully remodeled the oldest commercial building in the city of Richmond, located in the heart of the historic river district, originally built circa 1817 as a lumber house by Charles Whitlock. Over the next half-century it housed a candle and soap factory, a brewery, a cigar-box maker, a produce market and a locksmith.
Julep’s has already been named one of Richmond’s “Top Seven Sensations” by Richmond Magazine. The professional and friendly staff, elegant atmosphere and charm of this historic building create a hospitable setting as you savor a fresh mix of flavor that captures the flare of Atlanta, Charleston, New Orleans and Savannah.
Looking to dazzle clients or friends? Julep’s is available for large dinner parties, luncheons and receptions.
We hope you’ll join us down in Richmond’s historic River District in our appreciation of “new” Southern cuisine.

Mellow is a state of mind, a culture, a way of being. Our mission is to provide delicious food in a fun and creative environment. We are the originators of Classic Southern Pizza, and our unique and flavorful crust is a true original. The idea back then was the same as it is now, to make the most delicious, crave able slice of pizza on the planet. The Mellow founders dreamed of a world where happiness could be found in the simplest things like a mouthwatering slice of pizza and an ice cold beer. Even today, as Mellows continue sprouting up, our mission remains the same: to serve a deliciously unparalleled pizza and a cold craft beer in an unforgettable environment. Pasture
When I think about Southern food, a few things come immediately to mind: sharing, fresh ingredients, family and friends, and conversation around the table. Here at pasture, we hope to bring all of those things together for a newer experience in southern dining. Instead of the more traditional large portions, we have put together a menu of small plates and some big plates to share and be enjoyed by the whole table.
We use the best products we can from a group of some of Virginia’s best farmers and producers. Local ham, Virginia cheeses, fresh fish and shell fish, meat, and vegetables all make their way onto our menu seasonally. Feel free to check our farmer’s board or ask your server for info on all of our awesome local providers. Our extensive craft beer list is also Virginia heavy, with all of our beers coming from east of the Mississippi river.
So relax and enjoy some of the best southern/local food our fair cities have to offer, and thanks for joining us around our table, we are honored to have you.

Saison
Chef Adam Hall and Jay Bayer bore Saison of a shared joy for food, drink, travel, conviviality, and a touch of nerdiness. We were both born and raised in the countryside of Virginia, Jay on a small farm in Augusta County and Adam in rural Western Albemarle. Our friendship and the early Saison conversations began over home-brewing sessions and Sunday dinners with friends. Our Southern roots and travels through Central America led us to see the culinary connections between the Southern US and Central American food ways. That cultural diffusion between the Old and New World gave rise to the Southern food package.
In defining our iteration of New Southern Food, we looked back to classic technique for execution and traveled to small markets and towns for authenticity and inspiration. We want Saison to be that crossroads of present and past, classic and modern, nerdy and cool. We aim to deliver amazing food and drinks in an atmosphere that is comfortable and inviting with service that is attentive and classic, yet relaxed and casual. A place to enjoy old company and build new friendships. We hope to see you soon!

Our reasonably priced wine list enables guests to complement their meal with a bottle of wine for the table or any wine by the glass. Choose from a selection of International and Craft bottled beers as well as several draft beers that change seasonally. Intricate stained glass, rich woodwork, fresh flowers and candles make this a cozy and intimate gathering place. On each wall is chalk art created by artist members of the restaurant staff.

Stuzzi
Naples is the birthplace of pizza, and neapolitan pizza captures the essence of this simple, delicious food. Real neapolitan pizza is so pure that there are only a handful of restaurants in the U.S. that can be certified like Stuzzi. Our pizzas are prepared in a specifically constructed oven, using volcanic lava stone.
In 1998 the Italian Government formally recognized Neapolitan pizza as a traditional food worthy of preservation and granted it D.O.C. (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) status, which specifies the legally permitted ingredients and methods to produce authentic Neapolitan pizza. The only one in Richmond!

Tarrant’s Café
Long known as Tarrant’s, 1 West Broad Street is located at the corner of Broad and Foushee Streets. In the 1800’s, this area of Broad Street experienced many changes. Most significantly after the April 1865 evacuation fire, damaged Main Street businesses moved to Broad Street as the city rebuilt. The very width of the street provided a central area for transportation that was key to Richmond’s recovery.
In 1883, 1 West Broad Street became a drugstore owned by Harrison and Pierce. In 1905, it was taken over by William G. Tarrant, who started Tarrant Drug Company. This corner drug store sold glasses and all kinds of medicinal remedies. Physicians could prescribe and purchase remedies on site. After Tarrant’s death in 1961, the drug store was taken over by his son Bill until 1987.
Today, Tarrant’s Cafe is bringing upscale but affordable neighborhood service to Richmond’s community.
