EVA IN ARUBA

Accommodation

What did I learn personally? What did I learn professionally?

I was living in an apartment in Noord, quite simple inside but with a big swimming pool and internet! The island is really small so nothing is far away! Just

perfect for this experience!

Hi! My name is Eva, I am 24 years old, spanish and I’m living in the UK.

I am currently looking for a job while I am volunteering in Leeds.

I was every day in Aruba Donkey Sanctuary, a volunteer-run

organisation taking care of the donkeys and as well working in another

environmental projects in Aruba.

I was feeding the Donkeys, cleaning their poo, guiding a tour for tourists, sometimes as a bar tender or shop-assistant and helping the veterinary,

which I enjoyed the most.

I used to go to explore the island with Adrian, my project mate. We

enjoyed the beach, the hot weather, all natural places they have and their

cheerful inhabitants.

Professionally I learnt how to communicate with people speaking dutch or papiamento and also to present the project all over the

island.

Personally I learnt a new way of life and how it is influenced by Spanish

and Dutch culture, I made new friends and I became an Open Water

Scuba Diver!

Since I remember I wanted to became a veterinary, but with 16

years I realised it was too hard and I change my mind. I always wanted to

try working in what I love, animals!
