In December 2000, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s department released the results of their investigation, the largest criminal investigation in the history of the State of Colorado. The 80 investigators involved followed up on over 4,000 leads.
Along with their report, the Sheriff’s Department made available over 11,000 pages of evidence.
Here, for the first time, we present all these pages as searchable .pdf files.

Reporting investigator. l? J. Doyle. is a commissioned peace
officer employed by the District AttOrney in the First Judicial
District serving Jefferson and Gilpin Counties. I am currently
assigned to assist in interviewing witnesses from Columbine High
School.
On May S. 1999 I spoke with Julie Jo Anderson. a Freshman.
DOB: 5 10 84
7539 W. Portland Ave.
Littleton. CO
303 979-9421
Mom: Karen Anderson Work: 982-6240
Dad: Thayne Anderson
Julie told me the following:
She went to school all day On the day of the incident. She
went to all of her regular classes and went down stairs to lunch.
After the bell rang, she was in the cafeteria for about 13 minutes.
1 JC-001· 002319
She talked to her friends and went outside. She put her baok pack
down outside, by the doors of the cafeteria (by the windows). She
walked back in to the oafeteria, got in line, and bought lunoh. She
was waiting for Tiffany Sharpley (no other info. available except
that Tiffany has a twin brother, Chad.) to pay. She heard one pop
from the stair area. Someone yelled they have a gun. A janitor and
Mr. Sanders were yelling for every one to get down. She went under
a table with Dustin GortOnv(797-3613), a boy named Brett, Greg
Garoia~ girl named Kristen, and some other kids.
She heard gun shots. She oouldn' t tell where the shots were
coming form, inside or outside, or where. She oouldn't see
anybody. She saw people getting up and running toward the stairs.
There were too many kids running up the stairs for her to run to the
stairs. She ran to the ki t chen . There were two Lunch ladies.
Everyone duoked into one of three rooms. She was in the bathroom
with 6 boys, Dustin, Brett, Fletcher and three other boys she
doesn't know.
She said that she heard something like little explosions, four
of them. About 20 minutes later she heard someone in the ceiling.
She said it sounded like the ceiling was going to break. As they
were walking out of the room, a kid fell through the ceiling. The
force shut the bathroom door. She didn't know the kid who fell
through the ceiling, but said that he was blonde, and she's since
seen him on the news. She thinks his name may be Nick Foss. She
said that she left the bathroom when she heard the ceiling noise.
She went out the kitchen door, along where the vending machines are,
and out the door by the faCUlty lounge. She got behind a car with
SWAT members. They had her run to a police car and then jump a
fence and then she went to another police car.
Julie never saw the shooters.

After being advised as to the identity ofthe interviewing agent and the nature of the interview, Andersonprovided the following information:
At approximately 11:10 am, Anderson got out of Mathclass, taught by Mr. Bundy, and proceeded from the Math area withher friend Danielle Stanek, and went down the main hallwaydirectly to the cafeteria. Once in the cafeteria, Anderson sether bookbag at the Lunchr'oom table (marked DDD on diagramsketch), got her lunch, and returned to her table. Andersonremembers that Danielle Stanek, Samantha Roman, Tina Shabez, andSara Ryan were also sitting at her table. Anderson was sittingat the table facing east.
Anderson had been eating for approximately five minuteswhen she saw four or five boys rJn in the cafeteria from the exitby the teachers lounge. They were yelling that someone wasshooting. Everyone in the room got under the tables. Andersoncould hear what sounded like explosions. William Sanders andsome janitors were running around the cafeteria telling thestudents to stay down. Everyone in the room stayed under thetables for two or three minutes. Anderson remembers hearingglass in the cafeteria break and saw someone dressed in blackoutside the cafeteria doors by the teachers lounge. When theglass started breaking, everyone climbed out from under thetables and began to run in all directions.
Anderson ran in the bathroom on the northeast corner ofthe cafeteria and stayed there for two Or three minutes. Therewere a few other girls in the bathroom, but Anderson did not knowwho they were. counselors office and post-grad center and out the exit behindthe gymnasium. As Anderson ran down the main hall she noted thatthe windows on the doors at the main entrance to the school wereshot out. Once outside, Anderson joined a large group of about250 students outside the entrance, who had stopped in front of a4' high fence. Anderson waited in the group for a moment untilsomeone said they saw one of the gunmen. Then everyone startedclimbing the fence. Anderson and many of the other students thenran to Clement Park.
Anderson did not remember seeing any large duffle bagssitting in the cafeteria. Anderson did not know Eric Harris,Dylan Klebold, or any of the other members of the TrenohooatMafia. Anderson has since heard rumors that a former member ofthe Trenchcoat Mafia, who had graduated last year, was at theschool that day. Anderson only knows his last name is Stair.
That day, Anderson was wearing white shorts, a plumcolored turtle neck tank top, and sandals. Anderson left a blackbook bag, brown wallet, and gray Express jacket in the cafeteria.

Anemathen saw a male standing near the bottom of the west cement stairs throw what Anemathought was a pipe bomb into the parking lot. Anema described this person as a tallmale, wearing a long black trench coat and a baseball cap on backwards. Anema did notrecall seeing this person with a gun in his hand. Anema stated that he initially thoughtthe person that he saw throwing the pipe bomb was_. He stated that he hadseen_several times at Columbine High~during those times hea1wa~wearing a "German-type" hat on backwards, that was similar to thetype of hat worn by the person who threw the pipe bomb.

He is assigned to "A" lunch (5'" Hour), and remained seated at this table during this period, where hewas seated with Erica McCluagherty, Drew McCuskay, Ryan Chillell, Candice Cushman and 3-4 otherunknown students.
He first noted begin made aware of trouble when he saw students gathering around the windowsscreaming, and he then saw black smoke outside the west windows of the cafeteria. He ran to the windowsand saw a subject in a white shirt apparently throwing unknown items towards the roof. SUBJECT: BAKER, Natalie RaeDOB: 12/24/82

OBSERVATION / INVESTIGATION:
On April 27, 1999 I was assigned to interview Natalie Baker a studentat Columbine High School and possibly was in the cafeteria during theshooting.
On April 27th at 1620 hours I arrived at 5123 S. Cody Ct. and didinterview Natalie Baker. Also present during this time was a friend ofNatalie who identified herself as AShley Egeland. Ashley is also a studentat Columbine High School and was in school at the time of the shooting.
Natalie confirmed that she was in the cafeteria when the shootingbroke out. She advised that she was sitting at the table identified as"V" on the diagram labled BAKER. She continued to say that she was sittingwith Marni McCellen, Jennie POllock, and Bae Gattont. Natalie relatedthat she had placed her back pack under her chair. Natalie aovised she hada black Jan Sport pack, and that it containeo her make up and glasses. Shecontinued to say that at about 11:20AM she noticed a janitor running backand forth and heard him say "they had guns". At this point a teacherordered everyone in the cafeteria to get under the tables and stay down.Natalie reported that there were shots, and while she was hidding under thetable she noticed a male subject standing in the hall infront of thestudent store near the south-east corner of the cafeteria. She continuedto say that this subject was wearing a black trench ccat but she could notsay whether this person was armed. She did say that she did not obse~ve
this subject fire any shots. After a while she reported that she alongwith a large group of students ran up the stairs that lead to the mainlevel south hall and ran out of the school by way of the main enterance ofthe school. Natalie said that the group ran across S. Pierce Street to a
,u 99038856I.Al':B'IfOOD CO PO .... 2 o. 2Supplement 04/28/99 1455 LURZ, RICHARD
parK on the east side of Pierce Street where they stopped. While they werein the park a teacher told them to get down that they (suspects) werecoming. However nothing else happened.
Natalie repOrted that she did not observe any type of large duffle orgym type bag in the cafeteria when she arrived nor did she see anyonecarry such an item into the cafeteria while she was there. She continuedto say that she did not know the person see saw at the cafeteria enterancenear the student store. Natalie reported that she had heard the subject atthe south-east enterance to the cafeteria said "anyone wearing a white hatis gona die" but she did not hear this herself. Natalie stated that shehad heard nothing about the incident before it occurred. Natalie said thatshe knew nothing about anyone bringing guns or bombs into school, nor hadshe heard anything about anyone maKing bombs (at this point Natalieglances at Egeland). Natalie continued to say that she does not knowanyone associated with the Trench COat Mafia other than seeing them inschool. At the end of the inter~iew with Natalie, Deborah Baker said toAshley "you SaW them didn't you". Ashley acknowledged that she had seentwo of the shooters so I began an interview with Ashley (refer to reportabout the interview with Ashley for details). The interview concluded at1705 hours.
I spoke to Deborah Baker on April 28th by phone. She reported thatNatalie had told her when she pick Natalie up, after the incident, thatthere had been possibly two other shooters other than Harris and Klebold, but Natalie did not Know them. She continued to say that what Natalie hadtold me was the same that had been related to her. Ms. Baker also statedthat the statement made by Ashley Egeland was the same thing that she hadbeen told by Ashley and that she had cautioned Ashley that before sherepeated the story that she (Ashley) should be darn Sure it was true sinceit was a very serious accusation.
