I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the glorious inheritance of the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. Ephesians 1:18-19

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust,

evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to

walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.Colossians 3:5-7

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. Romans 6:8

… Count yourselves alive to God in Christ Jesus Romans 6:11

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Romans 6:12

David Clayton 2009

Page 13: Colossians 3: 5- 7

Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God … as instruments of righteousness. Romans 6:13

For sin shall not be your master. Romans 6:14

You are slaves to the one whom you obey. Romans 6:16

David Clayton 2009

Page 16: Colossians 3: 5- 7

Wholeheartedly obey the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. Romans 6:17

David Clayton 2009

Page 17: Colossians 3: 5- 7

You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. Romans 6:18

Page 18: Colossians 3: 5- 7

Offer the parts of your body … in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. Romans 6:19

David Clayton 2009

Page 19: Colossians 3: 5- 7

When you were slaves to sin you were free from the control of righteousness. Romans 6:20

David Clayton 2009

Page 20: Colossians 3: 5- 7

What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things resulted in death! Romans 6:21

David Clayton 2009

Page 21: Colossians 3: 5- 7

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness and the result is eternal life. Romans 6:22

David Clayton 2009

Page 22: Colossians 3: 5- 7

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. Romans 7:21

David Clayton 2009

Page 25: Colossians 3: 5- 7

For in my inner being I delight in God’s law Romans 7:22

David Clayton 2009

Page 26: Colossians 3: 5- 7

But I see another law at work in the members of my body waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. Romans 7:23

David Clayton 2009

Page 27: Colossians 3: 5- 7

What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God- through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 7:24

David Clayton 2009

Page 28: Colossians 3: 5- 7

So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. Romans 7:24

David Clayton 2009

Page 29: Colossians 3: 5- 7

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Jesus Christ the law of the Spirit set me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1

Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:10-11

David Clayton 2009

Page 31: Colossians 3: 5- 7

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

David Clayton 2009

Page 32: Colossians 3: 5- 7

Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13

David Clayton 2009

Page 33: Colossians 3: 5- 7

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Though we live in this world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. 2 Corinthians 10:3-4

David Clayton 2009

Page 35: Colossians 3: 5- 7

On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4

David Clayton 2009

Page 36: Colossians 3: 5- 7

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 David Clayton 2009

Page 37: Colossians 3: 5- 7

If anyone causes these little ones who believe in me to sin (stumble), it would be better for him/her to have a large millstone hung around his neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea. Matthew 18:6

David Clayton 2009

Page 38: Colossians 3: 5- 7

Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the one through whom they come! Matthew 18:7
