LETTER FROM THE STATE WORTHY PRESIDENT
Brothers & Sisters,
What’s Up? We are full swing into spring
and visiting our brothers and sisters
throughout the state. Shirley and I ended
March by visiting WP Jimmy Garcia and
the members of Walsenburg #1187 for
their joint anniversary. It was a wonderful
day, good meetings, outstanding food and
good dance music afterwards. I loved the
picture given to me of the FOE Silver Ju-
bilee Convention held in Denver in 1923,
it is pretty cool. The Eagle trail then took
us the next weekend to Pikes Peak #143
where WP Scott Brown and his team initi-
ated 8 new members into our Order. It
was fun to find out that one of their new
members, Chuck Foley is the grandfather
of Grand Junctions Conductor Tom Foley.
I was very touched with all of the family
theme decorations, the donations to my
special project and I had so much fun at
their dinner. PSMP JoAnn Hall is soo fun-
ny! She had everyone in stitches with her
presentations and if you were unable to
attend you should try to be there next
year. We then spent the following week-
end at Pueblo #145’s joint anniversary
with WP T C Rice overseeing the ban-
quet. To brother TC and the members of
Pueblo #145 thanks for the good time, my
gift, home of “What’s Up” and the dona-
tion to Casa. All were very much appreci-
ated.
East Side Aerie and Auxiliary #3260 held
a weekend long celebration for their joint
anniversary with the Aerie having its
50th. It was an awesome weekend filled
with food, music, laughter, bragging
rights and some tears. Cheri Daily was the
chairman for the weekend and WP Steve
Traini and all that attended were not dis-
appointed as she and her workers did a
great job. I knew that East Side had
worked hard all year for their charities
and when they started presenting checks it
seemed like they would not stop. In all
they gave to charity over $80,000.00 in-
cluding $8,595.64 to my special project
CASA, that is where the tears came from.
I was overwhelmed and so proud of this
group of Eagles and the way they support
their local community, it was AWE-
SOME.
Great news, GWP Bud Haigh will visit our state May 18th - May 21st. He will start out on Monday the 18th with an afternoon meet and greet at Aurora #3224 followed by a dinner fund rais-er from 6-8 at Northwest #4019. On Tuesday he will be at East Side #3260 for a lunch meet and greet. We will then travel south to Steel City #3267 for an hour meet and greet before heading to Pueblo West #4471 for dinner at 6:00. On Wednesday you’ll find him at Grand Junction #595 for tacos and trivia. Come out shake hands with GWP Bud, he’d love meet with you and visit. Please look for more specific times and info on his visit on the web site. Also you will find info in this newsletter regarding all of our May anniversaries. Remember, All Worthy Eagles Shall Offer More En-gagement – thanks for being Awe-some and hope to see you on the Ea-gle trail. Fraternally, Duane T DeBord [email protected] (970) 986-2188

Auxiliary Corner This Colorado weather has been
true to its name. I am sure we
are all waiting on the wonderful
days of summer. April has been
very busy and it is wonderful to
see all the green coming in. I’m
sure Palm Sunday and Easter
Sunday were enjoyed by every-
one. I know our members at
Thornton had a very good time
with our children.
The joint Anniversary at Pueblo
145 was enjoyed by all who at-
tended. If you did not attend the
50th Anniversary at Eastside
#3260, you missed watching
them give away $32,000 to char-
ity. GREAT JOB Eastside. After
the celebration at Eastside,
Thornton #3226 was busy get-
ting ready for the Aerie’s 51st
and the Auxiliary’s
50th. The meetings, dinner and
the music were GREAT. If you
did not attend, you really
missed out on a FANTASTIC
TIME. Hopefully we will see you
next year.
Sisters, if you have not brought
in a new Auxiliary mem-
ber, please do so soon, time is
running out. I know that May will
soon be over and the amount
of members we bring in will be
greatly appreciated.
I look forward to seeing every-
one at the upcoming Anniver-
saries this Month. Englewood will
be having a “Red Carpet Event”,
followed by Broomfield, Steel
City and Castle Rock. Please make
it a point to attend.
Local Elections and Installations
will be happening by the end of
this month. Good Luck to all the
new officers in our Aeries and
Auxiliaries.
We have a few brothers and sis-
ters who have been ill, and in the
hospital. Do not forget them in
your prayers, and please send
cards. We need you all to get
well and healthy. You are missed
by all of us.
So until next time, stay healthy
and warm. God Bless.
Fraternally,
Timmie Torres
