10 Things To Know: 1. Minnesota has posted a winning mark of 8-4-2 all-time in season openers (including a tie in 2001-02), tied with Colorado for thehighest points percentage in season openers (0.643). The Wild also ranks T-2nd in the NHL for longest active point streak in seasonopeners, going 3-0-1 to start the last four seasons. Thursday marks just the fifth time in team history the Wild will open the season asthe road team, the first since 2009-10. Minnesota is 0-3-1 in season openers as the road team, going 8-1-1 all-time when opening theseason as the home team (including a loss vs. Carolina to start the 2010-11 season in Helsinki, Finland). The Wild is 3-0-0 versus theAvalanche in season openers, including a 5-0 win in Saint Paul on Oct. 9 last season. 2. The Wild began 2014-15 with two consecutive shutouts against the Avalanche: a 5-0 victory in Saint Paul on Oct. 9 and a 3-0 win inDenver on Oct. 11. Mike Yeo was named the Minnesota Wild’s third Head Coach on June 17, 2011. He has led the Wild to the Stanley Cup Playoffs three straightseasons after a five-year absence.
