where are they now?
Herrington is set to begin her first sea-son as the head softball coach at Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. Herrington first came to ASU as an assistant coach in 2005. She was promoted to associate head coach prior to the 2007 season and became the Mountaineers head coach in October.
The promotion came after the ASU assembled their most successful season in school history with a 29-30 record and a deep run in the Southern Conference Tournament. Herrington has seen numerous players under her tutelage set new school records.
Herrington began her coaching career at Florida State in 2003. She helped guide the Seminoles to the Atlantic Coast Conference and NCAA regional titles, and a fifth-place finish at the 2004 College World Series. She and the entire FSU coaching staff were honored as the 2004 Southeast Regional Coaching Staff of the Year.
Herrington was a member of the EKU softball team from 2000 to 2003. She helped the Colonels to the program’s first NCAA tournament appearance in 2002 after winning the Ohio Valley Conference regular-season and tournament championships.
She was named first team All-OVC and to the all-tournament team in 2002, along with earning second team all-conference accolades in both 2000 and 2001. She was selected All-OVC honorable mention as a senior in 2003.
A native of Olympia, Wash., Herrington married Jonathan Woodard, who was also a standout student-athlete at EKU, in the sum-mer of 2006.

After completion of her degree in physical education/exercise and wellness in the spring of 2003, Herrington moved to Kansas City, Mo., to attend Cleveland Chiro-practic College.

During her tenure, Dr. Herrington discovered her specific passion within Chiropractic, under the direction of Dr. Ned Heese who specializes in the Sacral Occipital Technique (SOT). Prior to graduation she was chosen for an externship at the Truman Medical Center and the Kansas City Veteran’s Administration.
While at EKU, Herrington was part of the 2002 Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament championship teams, and she also participated in the 2002
