PROJECTED INTO THE FUTURE
COLMAR began its activity in 1963, thanks to the idea of two simple guys. These men started producing machines for the earth-moving and agricultural sector, assembling different parts of military machines left by the American army after World War II.
In 1967, the first COLMAR Railroad Loader was produced. The machine was used in the construction of the of the Rome-Venice railroad line in Italy.
In 1968, COLMAR produced the first industrial loader by installing a turn able superstructure designed for lifting of heavy loads on a lorry chassis.
In the early 70’s, COLMAR, owing to the experience gathered in the sector of earth moving machines, increased and widened its product range. Furthermore, significant improvements of the design procedures, aimed to spur the production of industrial loaders and of equipment manufactured for the construction and maintenance of railroads.
In order to expand its product range for the metal recycling business during the 90’s, COLMAR began the manufacturing of Balers and Shear Balers for ferrous and non ferrous scrap.
In 2005, the new CAYMAN series horizontal shears emerged as a new product on the world market. These machines are characterized by their ease of use, their low maintenance requirements, and their high production output.
COLMAR production ranges from industrial wheeled loaders, tracked loaders, pedestal cranes, balers, shear balers, horizontal shears, specific rail road loaders, and special hydraulic machines.
Our main goal is to provide customer satisfaction, and for this reason all of our products and services are thought out and projected starting from an attentive analysis of their necessity and application. From here, these machines are built with the best materials and technologies available.
Our technical office is at the customer’s disposal in order to satisfy special requests on machines, equipment and accessories.
Our engineers are always available for proposing further machine development concerning the products in the catalogue, for those requiring customized solutions.

Industrial loaders for recyclingCOLMAR’s industrial loaders are widely employed within the wood industry, for loading/unloading operations of wood, in piling logs in a yard, for fixing of materials in the sawmills, and also in order to predispose trunks and boards on stocks.The specific equipment such as pinchers and buckets for trunks, the front blade or the tracked versions for slippery grounds, allow one to obtain a specificallyfast and productive customized machine, which has very low management costs.

Load sensing loadersThe technical characteristics of the new loader C350HE are really innovative:• Rexroth Load Sensing new hydraulic system allows more fluid and precise machine movements;• high machine noiseless guaranteed by the new noise flow system conveying them inside the engine bonnet;• semi-pantograph cab elevation dumps the machine vibrations during the operations. Moreover the semi-pantograph structure has the advantage to allow a complete rear view;• control panel on the steering column to allow the operator’s view when he is using the bucket close to the machine;• new and more comfortable seat;• easier machine maintenance by means of better filters access, the better disposition of the greasing points and the platforms system, ladders and handrail bar to make safe these operations;• Terminal hydraulic pipes usually subject to collision and breaking, in this model are safely put inside the second arm.
Hydraulic system: The load sensing hydraulic system assures the maximum result by distributing the oil flux where andwhen needed. The piston pumps with varying capacity give exactly the oil flux required, without anywaste, they grant low fuel consumption and a higher productivity of the machine, which automaticallyperforms the operator’s commands moving contemporaneously. The load sensing mechanics allowsyou to operate faster and with greater precision. Additionally, the vibration reduction allows for a morecomfortable environment in which to work.
Transmission: Four wheel hydrostatic transmission, axial piston Hydraulic motor, variable displacement auto regulator, 2 gear velocity selectable from the cabin. Axial with epicyclical reductions on the hub. Oscillating front axle with hydraulic block. Wheels: coupled front and rear wheels with plain super elastic rings. Steering gear: device commanded from the cabin by powersteering supplied by a proper oil gear pump.

Scorpion shearsScorpion shears are used in all demolition scrap yards which cut and recover ferrous materials such as structural steel, pipelines, gasoil tanks, rail way coaches, etc…then easily recycled. This shear series has been thought according to a particular advanced project apt to increase its performance. Their structure is made of the most innovative steel types: light, resistant and highly wear proof.Scorpion’s whole series have an hydraulic device which increases the opening/closing speed of the mobile shank; furthermore, it is characterised by the presence of a powerful cylinder which extends an extraordinary force, in order to face all working conditions.The 360° hydraulic rotation - a standard for all models - allows a perfect and effective positioning of the equipment.The structure of the Scorpion is completed by an effective system which permits to maintain the guide of the mobile shank during the shearing operation.All shear cutting points are interchangeable and their substitution is easy and can be performed in a very short time, also avoiding hard facing operations, generally performed by specialised personnel, therefore considerably reducing maintenance costs and wastes of time due to out of order.

Rail road loadersCOLMAR railroad loaders are used for the construction and maintenance of railway lines.The machines can be equipped with different accessories: rail pincers, hydraulic or mechanical frame beams for moving sleepers, tamping units, pincers for different usage, hydraulic hammers, hydraulic bush-grass cutters.COLMAR railroad loaders are made of a strong electro welded steel and are outfitted with hydraulic systems made with high quality components. Remote control with automatic functionsAfter loading, the machine’s compacting cycle can be controlled via a remote sequencial procedure. The remote control is essential when the operator is controlling the machine from the loader used to feed the baler.

AUTOMATIC COMPACTING BALERS
TransportationAll balers (except the model B5000 HD) can be easily loaded onto and unloaded from normal trucks, thanks to the roll-on-roll-off system. On request, they can be fixed on a suitable truck, trailer, or semi-trailer. The B5000 HD model can be fixed onto a suitable trailer or semi-trailer.
The Lifting Cylinders equipment: Balers can be equipped with four lifting cylinders in order to load and unload from a standard semi-trailer.In this case, the baler automatically lifts with no use of a crane, the truck then can easily move under the machine, after which the lifting cylinders retract and the baler is ready to be moved.

PortabilityThis range of balers can be permanently installedon a semi-trailer, in order be transported to other locations. The machine works autonomously through its hydraulic system which is built in the trailer and the loading boom arm for the handling of the scrap material.

AUTOMATIC SHEAR BALERS
Automatic shear balers COLMAR shear balers are used as compactors in the car crushing industry, for the recovery ofwaste from industrial processes and in the recycling industry. For the same purposes they can also be used in the shear mode. the automatic cycle for compacting and cutting makes these machines particularly efficient for the processing of scrap materials.
Radio remote control with automatic function After the loading, the machine can work in the automatic cycle made for compacting or cutting sequences and canbe controlled with the radio remote control.This device is essential when the operator sits on a separate loader to feed the baler/shear baler.

AUTOMATIC SHEAR BALERS
The machine, in baler mode, pushes out the bale, through the hydraulic bulkhead, at the end of the compaction cycle The shearing function makes it possible to cut materials that are difficult tocompact, such as metal rods, rails, pipes and metal girders into small pieces. The compaction, baling and cutting-to-size of waste materials allowsthe drastic reduction of transport and storage costs.

This last project arises from the ambition of COLMAR to produce machines of extremely high quality and performance which are superior to any other product on the market;thus confirming its world leadership in the field of balers and shear balers. CuttingThe scrap is cut with the guillotine horizontal shear. The cut material is contained by a plate located under the portable blade holder that pre-determines the length of the cut.
Blocking sheetThe blocking sheet is located inside the structure of the machine, at the entranceof the shear itself, close to the material gathering plane. Its function is to compact the material to increase its density, and convoy the material to be cut.
