MONDAY NIGHT MOVIE: The Monday Night Movies are cancelled for 12/19, 12/26, and 1/2/17…See you later in the New Year!! COLD WEATHER, LOW TEMPERATURE REMINDER: Residents in Cottages and Apartments are reminded to leave your water dripping from the faucet in your kitchen and/or any bathrooms located on outside walls. In addition, it is also helpful to keep your cabinet doors in these areas open for the heat to access the pipe during these extremely cold nights. We have all you need to keep them filled. How about some pancakes? We have the mix. Abundant snacks, frozen dinners. We even have the batteries they may need for their presents! Plus all the things they forgot to bring with them. Come explore our Country Store. We’re here for you. FROM THE LIBRARY: A "HELP ME" box is on the circulation desk with a form located next to the box. Fill out the form telling us how we can help you. Library volunteers will check this box daily and will contact you to arrange a time to meet in the Library. Overdue notices will be coming out mid-January 2017. If you have had a book for more than 2 months, either renew it or return it before then. Another reminder: we will be selecting new books to purchase in mid-February. Let us know what you would like us to buy. ATTENTION, BINGO PLAYERS: BINGO is on vacation!! Best wishes to all for the Holidays. Ardyce Asire x7348. BEADERS PROJECT AND THE HOLIDAYS: Check the glass cases to see beautiful necklaces created by Collington Beaders. Choose a gift for someone special -- maybe yourself!

COMPASSION AND CHOICES: extends its warmest thanks to all who signed the petition urging passage of the 2017 End of Life Option Act, allowing terminally ill adults access to Medical Aid in Dying. You made the drive an outstanding success! Our next event is Wednesday, January 25, C and C's LOBBY DAY at the Legislature in Annapolis. Our presence and the opportunity to visit legislators' offices can strengthen the petition's show of support. We hope to have a bus; breakfast and lunch will be provided by C and C. Please let me know if you intend to go, so we know what size bus to reserve and what names to give for meals. HOLIDAY SAFETY TIP REMINDERS
With the holiday season upon us, it is truly important to take the necessary steps to ensure that you do not become a victim and also practice some simple steps to make this a happy and healthy holiday season.
• Lock everything: This seems obvious, but more often than you would expect a burglar gets into a house just because something was left open or unlocked, especially with house guests visiting who may not have keys.
• Secure valuables: Never leave anything of value out in plain sight. If you have not already done so, now may be a good time to consider placing any jewelry, extra cash or other valuables in a safe deposit box or even a secure hidden safe within the house. Nothing should ever be visible from any window and the master bedroom is the first room any intruder will check for valuables.
• Lock packages securely in your trunk: While out shopping, not inside your car where they can be a visible enticement for thieves. Look around to see who is watching you when you do this. If possible, after placing valuable in the trunk, move your vehicle to another location.
• Some people may become dangerously depressed during the holidays: Be aware of the people around you and intervene early if possible and if safe to do so in order to potentially deter a violent situation from erupting. Help by being a patient listener, reporting the matter, or guiding the individual towards appropriate counseling.
• BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS! Report suspicious persons or activity to Security or your local law enforcement agency.
Happy Holidays
Colington Security Team
