Collington’s Strategic Journey

Update on Health Services Alliance Activities Our architect firm, SFCS, has now received all the results of the resident-wide survey, and is working quickly to complete the analysis, so that the architects can take the wishes of everyone into account. On their last visit to Collington the team also had meetings with health and fitness staff to get their views and inputs.

Using preliminary results, the firm has already started preparing designs and sketches for options for the upgrade of the health and fitness facilities. They shared these early ideas with members of the Health Alliance at a meeting on December 19. They will be taking member comments into account as they refine these first-round sketches into real architectural designs, which they will be showing at the next meeting on January 9, 2019.

These options are still only at the idea stage. None have been fully discussed. None have had financial considerations attached. But all are taking resident wishes, as expressed in the charrette and survey, closely into account. The Alliance members have been pleased to notice how seriously the architects are taking client wishes. The Alliance feels that the project is moving well; members look forward to being able to share optional designs with the Board, the Strategic Planning Group, and fellow residents sometime in the first quarter of 2019.

From Marian Fuchs, on behalf of the Health Services Alliance.
