Program OverviewThis college-prep business program is designed for juniors and seniors who are interested in pursuing college majors and future careers in business and finance. Students explorea broad range of advanced business topics in a fast-paced, interactive environment. Topics include: Economics; Entrepreneurship; Business Law; International Business; Personal Finance; Budgeting, Saving and Investing; Credit and Spending; Real Estate and Insurance; and Business Finance and Management.
Students in Financial Services have the opportunity to learn many of the latest technology applications used in business today. Business documents are prepared using Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Professional website and publication design are explored using Adobe Design Premium – DreamWeaver, PhotoShop, InDesign, and Acrobat. Students also learn how to create video presentations using Windows MovieMaker.
Teamwork, effective communication techniques, and time management skills are learned through extensive involve- ment in classroom projects and activities. Students gain valuable leadership skills and have the opportunity to compete at regional, state, and national levels as members of Business Professionals of America. And most importantly, Financial Services prepares students for a successful transition to many exciting college majors and careers.
