College magazine,

Evaluation I believe that my college magazine represents a stereotypical view of students. I chose my props to be glasses and text books because they are signifiers that arouse certain connotations associated with hardworking students. I really wanted the audience to instantly know what the magazine was about.

I chose my pink colour scheme because I wanted to draw in my target audience, these are predominantly female students. With hindsight this strategy may not attract all types of female students because some women aren’t attracted to pink stereotypically ‘girly’ colours.

I deliberately tried to incorporate the colours of the models clothes into my design on my front cover this is one of the areas of my work I like. I think the colour scheme works really well together with my bled out cover photo. I also like the way the model stands out on my cover meaning she and her stereotypical conventions stand out.

I think that my masthead needs improvement because wouldn’t look professional because of its pixelated edges and unclear text. My colour pallet is an issue, this is because they are soft colours therefore they wouldn’t stand out on magazine shelves.

When I was designing I should have thought more about what fonts I was using especially in my contents page.
