Bible study is to unite us with God.

Bible study is to unite us with God. That is its purpose.



Prayer—First, acknowledge God’s grace and ask His blessing

Bible study attempted without seeking God’s blessing can be an exercise in futility. We only are able to understand the Bible because our Father in Heaven allows us to do so.

This is a foundation principle of understanding God’s Word:



We can only truly understand to the degree we are faithful to what we have already received.

Gain depth by intensely focused study of a particular Bible subject, gathering cross reference texts, looking up the meanings of words in their original languages and then finding the relationship of your study to other teachings of the Scriptures.
