On November 23rd, we hosted the Parent/Teacher Conferences for the Term 1 report cards. This event was well attended with over 400 report cards being picked up this evening. This was a great opportunity for parents and staff to work together in support of student learning. Our Jazz Band, led by Mrs. Amaya, performed in the school lobby and put on a tremendous display of their talents. On Saturday, December 16th, our Leadership students, under the guidance of Mrs. Matheny and Mrs. Kooy, assisted with the 9th annual “Mission Students Have Heart” dinner. Students and staff provided a free Christmas dinner for members of the community who are struggling with financial hardship. On December 20th, our Music department entertained us with “Some Day at Christmas”. Thank you to our Music Director, Mrs. Amaya, for her leadership with our talented students. A variety of school spirit events were enjoyed including: Ugly Sweater Day, Red and Green Dress-Up Day, S’Winter ~ Hawaii Theme Dress-Up Day, Christmas Hat and Accessory Week and Western Theme Dress for the “Ho Ho Ho Down” on Friday, December 22nd. After all of this, everybody should be ready for a break. We hope families are able to take time to enjoy some rest and relaxation together over the next two weeks.
