VrindavanA verdant wooded area on thebanks of the River Yamuna, whichserved as the romantic playgroundof Lord Krishna during his youngerdays. Bankey Bihari Temple is a major temple inVrindavan dedicated to Lord Krishna.Mythologically, Krishna spent his childhoodand teenage days in Vrindavan, so the idolhere is in the form ofNand Gopal that is the childhoodincarnation of Krishna. The idol is black incolour and is usually kept inside thepremises behind the curtain.
