Typical features of a conference: A conference has a program committee A committee publishes a call for papers and selects

papers Participants have first interaction at the conference Program is fixed Sessions are mainly monologues

(often time restrictions do not allow questions at the end) Content is documented in printed or digital proceedings Dialog after conference is not facilitated Often the coffee breaks are the best

opportunity for knowledge flow
