Turning an unused alleyway into a pocket park that successfully captures and utilizes stormwater. Public seating and an exposed network of drains create an interesting experience when a rainfall event occurs.

In order to successfully show thesummer attributes of plants I wantedto bring in a wide palette of greensthat had modest splashes of color.Nature provides landscape architectswith so many shades of green thatevery plant could bring a new green tothe design. I also wanted a lot ofsummer flowering plants so that theentrance is attractive. The bright greenfoliage of the Ginkgo trees provide awarm base for the entrance. The colorof the Purple Fountain Grass accentsthe sign nicely along with the annualbed.
Fall is a season that many people lookforward to all year, so I wanted tomake sure that my design captured allthe beauty that different plant speciescan offer during this season of change. My fall design drastically changes thefeel of the neighborhood entrance dueto a selection of plants that undergodrastic seasonal color changes. Mostnotably, the ginkgo trees bring a warmyellow to a sometimes bleak season. Also, the Oakleaf Hydrangeas provide astunning display of red and burgandy.
