• Developimprovedmanagementpracticesincludingaspectsoftreepruning,cropsanitationandnutrientmanagementthatwillhelpreduceincreasedriskofdiseaseandpestincidenceasaresultofrecyclingofcocoahusksandotherorganicresiduesincocoaplantations
• Develop research activities on Core and Satellite trials, focusing on targeted fertilizerapplicationscomplementedbyorganicresources.
• Developmethodologiesforthemeasurementsofplantgrowthanalysis(partitioningwithinthetree,treegrowth,girth,leafareaindex,flowering,podset,podyield,beanweight)andpestanddiseaseincidence.
• SuperviseactivitiesofPhDandMSCstudentswhoareinvolvedintheprojectinareassuchasresearchdesign,fieldworkanddataanalysisinaresearchfordevelopmentcontext.

7. Postdoc-SystemsAgronomy(IITA)MainResponsibilities:• Design a decision support framework based on a stepwise approach that has been
developedbyIITAandpartnerstosupporttheimplementationofrecommendationsderivedfromtheCocoaSoilsexperimentaltrialsinsmallholdercocoaplantationsinCameroon,IvoryCoast,GhanaandNigeria.
• Leadworkonintegratingnewknowledgeintoexistingextensionmaterialsofthedifferentcountriesanddeveloptoolsandprocessesthatenablecontinuousupdatingoftheexistingextensionpackage.
• Conductastudyonfarmers’perspectivesandpracticesinrelationtoclimaticchangeandinvestigatethesocialchallengesandopportunitiesaboutadoptionofclimatesmartcocoapracticesforcocoaintensification.

• Conduct a range of household surveys and semi-structured interviews as well as aninstitutional mapping focusing on how formal institutions (atlocal/regional/national/transnational levels) influence theuseor the adoptionof climatesmartpracticesasariskmanagementstrategyforcocoaintensification.

8. ProjectAdmin/Accounts
MainResponsibilities:
• Managestheday-to-dayoperationalandadministrativeactivitiesoftheProjectCoordinatorbyorganizingtheflowofwork,prioritizingincomingrequests,maintainingthePC’sagenda,paperworkandacontrolsystem,andfollowinguptoensuretimelyresponses;
• Providesadministrative support to theProject ImplementationUnit inGhanaandProjectactivitiesinCôteD’Ivoire,CameroonandNigeria
• Onbehalfof thePC,maintainsuptodate filesofactivity reportsandtravelplans for theprojectstaff;
• AssiststhePCintheelaborationofannualworkplanandprogressreportsbyconsolidatingthecontributionoftheprojectstaff;
• Preparesandconsolidatethemonthlybudgetforecastsinconsultationwithprojectstaffand• Maintainsanin-depthknowledgeoftherespectiveIITAprograms/departments,responding
and/orre-routinggeneralrequestsforinformationandfunding,electroniccommunication
