The second Cromer and Sheringham Arts Festival is coming! What was last year’s bold experiment - launched on a wing and a prayer - returns with a more assured but equally full and varied programme.
Building on the experience of last October - and buoyed by the enthusiasm to give it another go expressed by so many of the same local arts groups and creative individuals - ‘On the Brink’ will prolong the coming holiday season’s jollies for a further events-packed eight days between 22 and 29 October.
Why the subtitle, ‘On the brink’, you may be asking?
Well, firstly, it’s just another way of referring to ‘Coast’ and focusing attention on the twin seaside towns and their neighbouring villages.
But it also hints at a bit of drama, anticipation, even risk, and is meant to give a certain edge to this year’s offerings. Whatever happens, we can confidently look forward to starting autumn with a rich mix of poetry, music, stage shows, visual arts and happenings, along with all sorts of hands-on stuff for the children.

Elspeth Rushbrook Legendary Locals
Sheringham Library Black Shuck is a well known ghost dog. Cromer had a sea monster sighting in 1930 during a Sunday school outing. Why do we fear and demonise what we don’t understand? How else could these legends serve us? 22 - 29 October
