“Space saving” machine for better visibility in the factoryKeeping the basic structure of USL® -480, features of two machines are incorporated into a single 1,000mm width bed. Compared with two-machine-in-line, the required floor space is reduced by about 27%. In addition, the 1,500mm height of the machine provides better visibility in the factory by eliminating high-rise wall that might obstruct view. Installation at factory with lower ceiling is suitable, which relates to the benefit of reducing hidden cost such as air conditioning and operators' time moving on the floor.
In pursuit of high precision cutting through imbedded cooling system on the machineOn a machine with 2 spindles, there is residual heat imbalance for cutting differs between the left and right sides. This leads to an unstable accuracy. This machine is built with a cooling tank inside the bed for two spindles to prevent abnormal latent heat achieving stable accuracy for a long period of time. With 1 bed, 1 controller, 1 loader, and 1 chip conveyor compactly designed together, the number of components is significantly reduced producing a lighter machine while maintaining rigidity. If you compare the power consumption with that of 2 "USL-480" machines, the power consumption of this machine is lower by about 44% during standby, and by about 31% during operation.
New design with consideration for Quick ChangeoverDuring the changeover, the front upper cover can be opened as wide as the width of the machine. The door opening is widened to 900mm (35in) from 550mm (21 in ) o f the conventional machines. The rearward opening of the shut te r p rov ides a c c e s s i b i l i t y f o r changeover, ensuring efficiency of operation.

Stable precision machiningThe Z-axis slide base and the bed support of this machine are combined resulting to a higher rigid design. The slide is equipped with high rigid roller guide for good tracking, capable of sliding more smoothly as it is controlled by a new CNC. These improvements are aimed at improving machine accuracy. By conducting a thorough analysis of thermal displacement, a symmetric bed structure has been introduced. A cooling unit has been installed as standard to restrict relative displacement due to temperature change during machining and maintain stable dimensional accuracy.
Improved Operating Ratio per Unit AreaTwo-spindle simultaneous machining reduces the cycle time by half. The machine is compactly designed with the length of 1,720mm and the floor space as small as 3.1m2.
