MUSIC THERAPY IN INDIANA
The Association for Indiana Music Therapy: News Letter Page 3
A Letter from the President:
As we all enjoy the warmth of summer, we
should take a moment to reflect on how far music
therapy has come in the state of Indiana. In just a
couple of years, our state has increased the
number of music therapy degrees available, our
national roster internship sites, state recognition
of music therapy, and our state organization’s
membership. In addition, we have drastically
increased the number of Board Certified Music
Therapists employed in Indiana! We have the
Indiana Task; our State, Regional, and National
Associations; our educational institutions and
YOU to thank for this amazing growth! We
make the most progress when we all work
together and thus I would like for you to invite
others to join our association.
As a member of AIMT, one can expect to stay
informed with legislative efforts, receive state
updates concerning music therapy guidelines,
obtain access to many inexpensive CMTEs every
year, depend on an organization to take your
concerns through the proper channels to get real
answers and reforms, collaborate and meet other
professionals, get access to the members only
area on the website, and have a VOICE! When
you join AIMT you help to support our efforts
and shape our journey to further music therapy in
Indiana.
I thank you for all of your inventive ideas and
dedication to this brilliant profession. I am very
proud to be the president of AIMT throughout
this evolution of our profession in Indiana and
welcome you all to contact me with your ideas.
