CMR 900, THE INDISPENSABLE REFERENCE ON ANY MAKERS LISTS

A GREAT COMBINATION OF ECONOMYAND SECURITY

Modularity and compatibility were the key factors in theconception of the CMR 900 alarm, monitoring and controlsystem, to make it as flexible and economical as possible.

The CMR 900 system is specified according to requirements, utilising remote acquisition and controlunits, centralising units, alarm relay units in crew rooms orcabins, display modules and supervision stations.

The distributed architecture optimises the systems securityand allows for degraded operating with the possibility of adirect read-out from the acquisition units thanks to aportable module.

COMPATIBILITY COMPOUNDED WITHADAPTABILITYDesigned as an open system, the CMR 900 can interfacewith most other systems on board, compliment or replaceall or part of another existing system. It can also expand asdemands change due to an increase in capacity or changeof requirements. In all events, CMR engineers will ensure the optimal coherency and performance of your entire alarm, monitoring and control system.

THE IDEAL SYSTEM FOR SMALL AND MEDIUMSIZED INSTALLATIONSCMR’s 900 modularity and capacity for managing upto 2000 channels of input /output data make it the system best adapted tomedium-sized vessels such as:

- Bulk carrier / Car carrier - Container- Tanker- Dry Cargo - Fishing- Tug- Reefer- RoRo- Ferry- Offshore / Offshore supply- Mini Cruiseship

A CHOICE BASED ON TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS, SECURITY AND ECONOMY

Whether installing :- a new, complete and homogeneous system ona non-equipped vessel,- to replace an outdated system (as with Year

2000 obsolescence),- to replace an obsolete or defective system,- to integrate new functions within apre-existing system,

the CMR 900 will provide total coherency andease of maintenance generating lower operating costs thanks to total mastery of the measuring channel.

ADAPTABILITY, MODULARITY ANDEASE OF MAINTENANCEWith the CMR 900, the maximiseddecentralisation of the acquisition and controlfunctions leads to a substantial reduction incabling costs. With its modular design, it is themade to measure system par excellence.Essentially dedicated to acquisition, the CMR 900 is also designed to carry out thecontrol functions performing as aProgrammable Logic Controller (PLC) since itcan carry an operations software at each individual CMR 900-41 local unit.

CONCENTRATION, EVOLUTIONThe multi-task real time heart of the CMR 900allows for various applications such as themanagement of alarm extensions to cabin, status logging, archiving (black box),streaming alarms etc. With the standard version, the CMR 900 uses aproprietary network for the local units (acquisition, control alarm relay) and anEthernet network from the centralizer to thesupervision stations. However it is possible to communicate withother types of network, notably the CAN fieldbus. CMR can study and carry out all the typesof communication classically encountered inthe world of monitoring and automation.

SECURITY, RELIABILITYThe network between the CMR 900-41 localunits and the CMR 900-42 centralizer has built-in redundancy. In the event of a failurewith one of the 2 networks, a single networkis sufficient to operate the system and uponfailure of both networks, the CMR 900-41 unitscontinue to operate normally (remote

intelligence). It is then possible to visualise thestatus of all the channels and/or configure themwith the CMR 900-44 portable unit.In the event of a failure on a CMR 900-41 localunit, the outputs of the unit failsafe as definedby the user.A synchronisation network option exists, allowing for a chronological positioning ofevents occurring on the different CMR 900-41acquisition units. The galvanic isolation, bygroups of 8 channels, provides for rapid localisation of possible insulation defects. Thecontinuity of the input line is permanentlymonitored on an individual basis.

ERGONOMICS, COMFORT OF USESupervision is clear and intuitive so that evennon-specialist personnel can easily interpretinformation on the screen : mimics are designedto facilitate decision making, and navigating inthe software is aided by scrolling menus. The pages on the screen are developed specifically for each vessel in conjunction withthe buyer / user. Each channel can be configured, either from asupervision station or a CMR 900-42 centralizeror a CMR 900-41 local unit, using a CMR 900-44portable unit via an RS232 link in the lattercase. The acquisition cards do not have a hardwareadjustment and can thus be replaced withoutany need for configuration or additionaladjustment (cards of the same type). Two sets of different parameters are associatedwith each input. This is particularly interestingfor monitoring dual-fuel engines.Four absolute thresholds are associated withevery channel. The user can adjust the value, direction for action, hysteresis and delay time. They can also be configured to a gradientthreshold. Moreover, 4 said deviation channelsassociated with a variable (calculated) thresholdare available with the CMR 900-41.The cabling is simplified by modularization and decentralisation.

A MODULAR SYSTEM MADE TO ORDER

With 7 different types of modules, which can be linked together in a network, it ispossible to define the system best suited to the needs and requirements of each vessel.

CMR 900-41 ACQUISITION AND CONTROL MODULESLocal units for data acquisition and controlInput/output : 32 analogue channels / 96 binary channels or combination of both.Compatible with all types of sensor. Compact and lightweight, these modules can beinstalled in the engine rooms, close to the sensors and can function autonomously in the event of the loss of the network. In the event of failure of amodule the outputs take on a failsafe position. An RS232 link provides for connection toa CMR900-44 portable for local visualisation of data and configuration.

CMR 900-42 CENTRALIZER MODULESThese units are for regrouping, storing and transmitting data from the CMR 900-41modules to the supervisor (CMR 900-70 or other model). With their large capacitythey can manage up to 10 CMR 900-41 modules. They also manage the alarm relayboxes. These units are compatible with the Ethernet network and can transfer dataonto other systems.

CMR 900-43 DISPLAY AND CONFIGURATION MODULESFixed units with large size display of parameters for optimum legibility even at a distance of several meters. With its scrolled menus and overall simplicity, configuration operations are madeextremely user friendly.

CMR 900-44 PORTABLE MODULESPortable units for reading and configuration, specifically designed to give increasedflexibility and freedom of action in operations such as start-up, maintenance and localmonitoring. No larger than a memo-pad and directly connectable to the CMR900-41 and CMR900-42 modules, these small units are lightweight and portable, therefore easy formaintenance personnel to carry.

CMR 900-46 ALARM RELAY MODULESSmall alarm relay boxes, designed to be installed anywhere on board : cabins, mess rooms, rest rooms etc...Any incident detected alerts the duty watch officerimmediately wherever they are.

CMR 900-70 SUPERVISION STATIONSA real workstation designed to supervise the entire system and to manage the peripherals : printer, modem etc...Using a certified PC compatible with Windows NT, it displays, manages and controlsall the functions available within the system, with simplicity and clarity.Using the Ethernet network the CMR 900-70 is compatible with most other systemson board, communicating via this type of network.
