Athletes officially selected by the WFF - National Federation Members of each country

according to the following requirements:

1. Each country shall be represented by one official team.

2. Co-organizing countries have the right for a double quota of participants

3. Each athlete must be a citizen of the represented country.

4. Each athlete must know, thoroughly understand and be able to compete under

the WFF - Competition Rules.

5. Every participant must be free of any physical or mental handicap - therefore

cannot cause any kind of difficulties during competition, under the WFF Rules.

6. All competitors must have Medical Release signed by official national doctor.

All National Federation participants must be WFF Member for 2017.

Participation on the World Championships and Cup is conditioned by the payment of

all membership fees to WFF (affiliation – for the new members, annual membership

fee for 2017).

All athletes who want to enter the World Championships competitions MUST have a

Fudokan BUDOPASS with the Annual Visa – 2017.

All athletes for Ippon-Shobu-Kumite must have gloves and mouth guard and groin

protection for male and chest protection for female.

SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE DELEGATIONS LEADERS!

On the registration for the competition, all delegations leaders must show to the

WFF secretariat - DAN registration number for all black belt holders - for

coaches, international judges and athletes.

1. AN ATHLETE CAN PARTICIPATE IN INDIVIDUAL CATEGORIES ONLY IN HIS AGE

CATEGORY. IF HE PARTICIPATES IN TEAM CATEGORY FOR AN OLDER AGE GROUP, HE

CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN THE SAME TEAM CATEGORY IN HIS AGE GROUP

Example: one junior athlete can participate in individual categories for juniors. He can participate in

team kata for youth. In this case he cannot be part of team kata juniors

Cluj- Napoca. It is a great honour for us to host World Fudokan Championships in

Romania. Cluj- Napoca is a cultural, financial and tourist centre of Romania, and

rightly recognized as a western capital of our country. It is worth to mention, that the

city has experience in hosting major international sporting events, including

European Basketball and Gymnastic Championships, and several Fed Cup and Davis

Cupcompetitions. The event is surely the most important sports event in the

world of fudokan in 2017. Therefore, the Organizing Committee will do its best to

make the WFF World Championships a full success, and to provide pleasant stay for

its participants and guests. We have privilege and honour of inviting you, and all

national federations to participate in the 2017WFF World Championships, held on

Cluj is located in the northwestern region of Transylvania. Cluj-Napoca (German:

Klausenburg; Hungarian: Kolozsvár), commonly known as Cluj, is the second most

populous city in Romania, behind the national capital Bucharest, and is the seat of

Cluj County in the northwestern part of the country. Geographically, it is roughly

equidistant from Bucharest (438 km), Budapest (351 km) and Belgrade (322 km).

Located in the Someşul Mic River valley, the city is considered the unofficial capital

to the historical province of Transylvania. Between 1790 and 1848 and between 1861

and 1867, it was the official capital of the Grand Principality of Transylvania.

The city has a population of 325,000 inhabitants, while the residents of the

metropolitan area are more than 400,000. However, this number does not include the

floating population of students: as ClujNapoca is today one of the most important

academic and cultural centres in Romania, hosting 6 statefunded universities and 3

private ones, there is an average of over 60,000 students. The city of Cluj, Kolozsvár

in Hungarian, Klausenburg in German, spreads out from St. Michael’s Church in the

Union Square, built in the 14th century and named after the Archangel Michael, its

patron saint. It gradually gained an important political, economic and cultural

position within the province of Transylvania, being a multicultural city with a diverse

cultural and religious life.

A vibrant and pleasant city today, with reasonably priced accommodation and

dining in the centre area – within 5-15 minutes’ walk from the “Babeş-Bolyai”

University central building –, a wonderful historical legacy and a great atmosphere,

How to get there: Getting to Cluj-Napoca is easy due to its position and its status as a major city in

Romania.

By plane: The International Airport of Cluj-Napoca (CLJ), http://airportcluj.ro/,

located 9 kilometres (5.6 miles) to the east of the city centre, is offering direct flights

to Bucharest, Prague, Munich, Vienna, Warsaw, Istanbul (provided by TAROM,

Turkish Airlines, LOT, Lufthansa, Austrian), and Paris-Beauvais, London-Luton,

Brussels-Charleroi, Eindhoven, Dortmund, Bergamo, Bologna, Rome, Treviso,

Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Zaragosa, and Tel Aviv (provided by Wizzair – a low-

cost company), and many other destinations.

By train: There are train connections to most Romanian cities, including fast

InterCity connections to Oradea, Arad, Timisoara, Brasov, Sighisoara and Bucharest.

Many trains to Budapest leave early in the morning.

By car/coach: Cluj-Napoca has good road connections European road E60 links it to

Bucharest and Brasov to the south, Oradea and Budapest to the west, through Bors

customs. E81 leads to Zalau and Satu Mare to the north, Brasov and Bucharest to the
