Nolt Noticias Summer 2015 Volume 15 Issue 2 Greetings to all! We hope that everyone has had a great summer and you are looking forward to the cooler weather of fall, and school starting again! Here in Juarez it has rained a lot and therefore has been more humid than normal! We have had some exceptionally HOT days for the month of August, with temps still in the high 90’s – 100! This summer we took 5 weeks of vacation/deputation, to visit family, friends and churches in Pennsylvania & Vermont. We spent two wonderful weeks in Pennsylvania with Dathan’s family. One highlight was going to Lake Tobias for the day. We went on a mini Safari & got to see many different animals, including buffalo, emus, monkeys, boas and many others. The girls got to touch an alligator & a snake! We were also able to connect with several people from the Lord’s House of Prayer, we had a fun afternoon of swimming with the Krolls! Then we spent a little over two weeks in Vermont visiting Christy’s family. We had many adventures, including going fishing and swimming in the lake. We also had the opportunity to connect with many people from Living Hope Christian church. We had a wonderful dessert night and Christy was able to share with the ladies from church. While there, we (Dathan & Christy) had the opportunity to get away for a few days, while the girls stayed with Christy’s parents & participated in VBS at the church. We stayed at a little cottage & spent the days hiking. It was nice to get out in nature, among the green trees! Our second day out we hiked for 6 hours! It was great to get away & have some time just for us. After our 5 weeks up north, our vacation has continued, at least for the girls & Christy. On our way back, we picked up a friend (Autumn) from Pennsylvania so she could come down with us for two weeks of vacation. It was great having her here; she really connected with us and became part of our family. We spent almost every afternoon swimming as it was HOT outside. This past week has been a time of cleaning & getting things

Greetings to all!

This past week has been a time of cleaning & getting things ready for school. This coming Tuesday Dathan’s mom & John will be coming down to visit us for a few days. Then we are all going to New Mexico for a week. We are looking forward to having visitors in our neck of the woods.

Once we come back from New Mexico it will be time for the girls to start school! Christy is excited this year because we have purchased a curriculum for all three girls, so it will be less planning for Christy. The cool thing is all three will be studying the same things, except for math & English. Rebekah & Briana will be participating in drama again this fall! Alyssa will have some Mommy time, as there is no teacher for the younger kids. Pray for great attitudes as they start!

Since coming home, Christy had the opportunity to translate two mornings for the DTS (Discipleship Training School). It was a great time to see meet the DTS students and see what God has already been doing in their lives just a few weeks into the school. Seeing a need for some of the students to attend church in English we, as a family, offered to take some of the DTS students with us to church once or twice a month. This past Sunday we took 5 of them with us & they really enjoyed it! We were even invited to stay for the visitor’s lunch our church has every first & third Sunday of the month. The DTS students are also looking at doing a presentation for the youth group! Dathan was asked to be a one on one with one of the male DTS students & is enjoying getting to know him. We praise the Lord for these new connections & different ways to be a part of what God is doing in the lives of the DTS students.

This fall is going to be really busy for us! Christy will be starting school with the girls on September 7th. We will be having our annual base wide staff retreat Sept 19th through the 23rd. Pray that it will be a wonderful time for everyone to rest & relax, but also that as a staff we would encounter the Lord & seek His face for what He has planned for the ministry this coming year. Right after our staff retreat, we will have the second part of a Celebrating Children workshop- Sept 28th through the 9th of October. Christy will participate in the mornings, while the girls join Colegio for those two weeks & Dathan will participate in the afternoons, so that Christy can go home & finish school with the girls. Rancho will be having a dessert banquet on October 9th & Christy is part of the planning committee. Pray for health & endurance as it’s going to a busy season!

Rancho News

Right before we came back from vacation, Rancho accepted 11 new children, bringing the total number to 38! There are now 19 girls (3-12 years old) and 19 boys (5-16 years old). The new children have had a few weeks to adjust before school starts on this Monday the 24th! Pray for all the children as they go back to school, that it would be a time of excitement and anticipation of all that they are going to learn and do. Pray for the teachers as well, since having a classroom with children learning academics as well as how to behave and obey can be quite challenging.

As we shared with many of you of on our vacation, Rancho is in the process of building a new home that will be able to hold about 60 children. It has been amazing to see the project move so quickly and steadily since last year! We were looking at moving the children in October but have had to postpone the date because the finances have not been coming in, and we will not go into debt building the new home. It is critical that the new home is built soon since the current home, which is partially made of adobe, is quite literally crumbling to the ground. Pray for finances but also for connections with people who would be willing to donate their time and or resources. We were able to share with our church in El Paso and have had several people respond wanting to help by donating supplies.

Thank you to everyone for supporting us through prayers & finances! Without you we would not be able to do what we do! What an honor & privilege it is to faithfully serve our Lord & be a part of what He is doing here in YWAM El Paso-Juarez!
