Our club President Kanthan Pillay and
Dr Sarah Britten, tie the knot in the
beautiful Clarens setting.
Sarah is also a member of our club...but
they met long before that!
Sarah was very involved with the
communications programme for the
Rotary Family Health Days project in
2013.
Sue Paget (RFHDs Director) and PDG
Shirley Downie enjoyed chatting to her
during a number of meetings...and she
was introduced to us by Kanthan who
highly recommended her to the project.
Sarah is a remarkable artist! She does
artwork using lipsticks - which is so
unusual and extremely beautiful.
All the club members wish them both
many decades of happiness together
and for this Rotary year, Sarah is our
First Lady!
RI President Gary
Haung seen on the screen
during the discussion held by so
many folks worldwide.
RIP Gary’s mentioned that the
future of Rotary could be
through eClubs and also have
more women on board.
PE Annemarie and President
Kanthan were involved in the
discussions.
Read more about the
meeting on page 3.
It is planned that in November,
all our club members can
interact with the twinning club
to interact… once the date and
time is announced, please make
yourself available so that we
can have a wonderful
interaction between us all.
We toasted a few clubs and the 1st Club toasted (last month) was: The Rotary Club of Bishofhofen Aus-tria (D1920). Dr Mashadi Motlana, one of the newer members of the E Club was an exchange stu-dent some years ago before she started her medical
studies. https://www.rotary.at/clubs/178_rc_bischofshofen/clublokal The second club The Rotary Club of Vale Verde - Green Valley in Phoenix Arizona was toasted - following a proposal by club
member Sue Paget - Chairperson of International Service and Programme Director of the RFHA Rotary Family Health Days, Southern Africa.
24 October - World Water Day
There have been radio interviews, TV snippets and much to do about water being cut off in
some areas for over 2 weeks…. And many are saying that they would rather be without elec-
tricity than water!
Water is one of Rotary International’s main focus areas.
Perhaps we should consider a water-related project in ur club. Areas such as Nelspruit , rural
areas and Kenya need to be considered….so eClub members in those areas—and any other
area, please consider a water project. We can even apply for a grant as well.
much, Muito Obrigado, Aligato, 謝謝你 Dear Rotary Friends, dear Friends
MERCI BEAUCOUP ! THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of you who have
attended yesterday’s meeting of the Rotary E-Club 9920 Francophone with
Rotary President Gary Huang as Special Guest Speaker, in spite of the timetable!
133 Rotarians from 29 different countries, 52 Districts , 72 Rotary Clubs from all over the World , what an achievement ! This is the MAGIC of E-CLUBS !
Please forgive me for not giving to all of you the right to speak to President Gary, but I had been told that President Gary had a very tight schedule afterwards.
I would like to thank particularly our D9920 DG Iain who had to wake up so early to be able to attend this meeting , as well as our Friends from Australia.
I would like to thank all 13 of our “already” Twin Clubs , and our 5“future” Twin Clubs who have participated,
and maybe some other Clubs, E-Clubs or “traditional” Clubs , could now come and join us in our “Circle”of Twin
Clubs!
A very special THANKS to the 4 “special” Speakers who have done their “homework” so diligently , as I have
been asking them to do , so that we would be on schedule...!
The New Generation and the Rotaract world was present as well with members from Europe and Africa. Thank you so much for coming ; this is your future!
President Gary’s words of wisdom have most certainly “enlightened” all of us, as well as the whole Rotary World!
Dear Friends , we have been through such a great moment of FELLOWSHIP / AMITIE ROTARIENNE during that meeting , and I am sure that President Gary has had the same feeling.
September 30th , 2014 will most certainly be a“milestone”, not only for the Rotary E-Club 9920 Francophone, but
also for all of us!
So, let’s LIGHT UP ROTARY all together , in order to help more and more the people in need all over the World
Yours in Rotary Service, Amitiés Rotariennes,
Jean Louis Nguyen Qui : 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 President of the Rotary E-Club 9920 Francophone
