So this would have been a dissertating dream to someone without office space within the department: personal space within the library to work, spread out, store books, & lock my

laptop up for lunch. Con: no windows.

While the dissertation was composed in a stylistically different building, the idea is the same.• Pros: It’s a great space architecturally with lots of light. Outlets for

all (serious bonus).• Cons: This is a view sans undergrads. The tables are great for

spreading out, but the chairs seem less appealing to someone sitting in them for hours on end. Mixed Use. Preferred

I probably would have read here. Although in the old library home, there were coffee tables for propping up feet. Again great light and comfy chairs!

While no work would have happened here, I love that there is a café in the library for both eating and non-scholarly discussions.

I am told that the students respect this space as a silent work zone, which is great for serious study.

I think it is wonderful that there are places for group study so that other areas remain relatively quiet.

However, they are on a first come first served basis and none are outfitted with SMART Boards or similar technologies.
