December 23, during 6th and 7th hours we are going to have some fun! We will be watching movies, playing board games and hav-ing activities in the gym, but needless to say, if you do not have your homework turned in you will be sitting in a study hall finishing it while the rest of us are enjoying ourselves! Mrs. Raguse and Coach Christensen are the people to contact with your good ideas. “In the Heart of the Sea” is based on the true story of the winter of 1820, when a whaling ship named the Essex was attacked by a monstrosity of a sperm whale. The attack stranded ninety men at sea, thou-sands of miles away from their homes in New England. As the captain and the rest of the crew tries to survive in the middle of the sea in the dead of winter, the captain’s first mate attempts to track down and kill the whale that destroyed the ship. This actual event is what inspired Herman Melville to write his famous book “Moby Dick.” The movie, starring Chris Hems-worth, will be released next Friday and is rated PG-13.

Senior or Sevie of the Week
This week’s Sevie of the week is Jakob Adelman who is look-ing forward to being able to play JH sports this year! His fa-
vorite thing about high school is playing Dodge Ball at lunch, but he misses having the same teacher for almost all of his classes. He very much likes playing sports—all of them—though if he had to choose a favorite it would be baseball, and naturally, his favorite class is gym! His goal is to not end up flipping burgers at McDonalds when he graduates. Jakob has 4 brothers, three older and one younger!
