Barriers include: •Identified lack of qualified faculty •Increased demand for nursing education reflects perceptions of job stability in uncertain economy •Expanded program admission rates call for innovative methods to provide access to focused clinical education environments The Institute of Medicine (2010) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (2011) have advocated for academic and practice partnerships to address today’s professional nursing education opportunities in both the academic and patient care environments.
