1. How much of an issue is climate change in your country? Do people discuss it ?
If so, how ?If not,why?
ANSWER:
In Romania, global warming and climate change is occurring and it is scientifically proven by recording and studying climatic history from the 19th century until now: researchers show that the trend of the last 30 years is heating.
Based on estimates (and predictions are made for not more than 14 days), it seems that 2010 was one of the warmest in recorded history, globally. Until now, heat records were obtained in 1998, 2005 and 2007.
Over 60% of Romanians are concerned with global warming ,according to a survey conducted by the Romanian Institute of Social Studies.
Most people (64%) say that global warming is an issue that worries them, while 32% of survey participants are less worried about this.
2. What measures does your country take in relation to climate change ? Do you have recycling programs? Incentive programs for climate friendly products?
Answer:Among the most important measures Romania took was
building wind farms in the Southern part of the country. The wind farms built in Romania are among the largest in Europe.
• The total capacity reached a record level of 540 MW after a new wind turbine was connected to the grid, according to Prague Daily Monitor.
• "Our wind park in Romania is the largest project of its kind outside the United States," said Group CEO Czech utility CEZ, Daniel Benes.
• The wind farm is located near the Black Sea coast and is composed of the General Electric turbines, each with a capacity of 2.5 MW.
Other measures Romania is taking are: Selective waste disposal Recycling and reusingFor example:• GlaxoSmithKline Romania established a system of selective
waste disposal in the company's offices in Bucharest, together with the Association of Future Plus.
• Association "Eco Systems' collected 134,000 tons of scrap iron electronic devices.
Hydropower Micro hydroelectric power plants Measures taken by the government in order to encourage the use of green energy by the population (Green Home Programme) Reducing exhaust emissions through a proper legislation Environment protection according to the European
legislation in this area. Adopting some programmes in order to make students
aware of the climate change and for their better implication in tackling this issue.
3. In terms of the future, what does climate change look like in your country?
Global warming
Floods Drought Hurricanes
Answer:
Although the increase in global average temperature is sometimes called "global warming", we believe that climate change includes not only a change in the average temperature, but changes in various aspects of weather, such as wind types, amount and type of precipitation, and also the type and frequency of extreme weather events.
Following the studies we conducted, we conclude that global warming is not only the consequence of temperature increase, but in the future, floods, hurricanes, droughts, fires ,disappearing glaciers and seasonal disturbance will be some of the major causes of global warming.

4. How does your country handle raw materials ?
Answer:
Our country has many valuable resources and raw materials: oil, wood, iron, salt, natural gas, uranium, marble, granite, coal.
We are going to refer only to those used to generate energy:
1. Wood• It is not allowed for lumber to be exported;• Reforestation programs are compulsory according
to the Romanian legislation 2. Oil, natural gas and coal Romania has important reserves from all these raw
materials and most exploitation sites are being preserved.
