VictorThe Village of Victor was incorporated in 1879 and quickly

became a center for commerce and manufacturing. Its

location along transportation routes including the NYS

Thruway and Route 96 make it easy to enjoy the area’s

history and festivals featured in this map. Our central

business district includes many service businesses as well

as unique retail shopping and dining establishments.

Close to downtown you can walk through history and

experience the Valentown Museum, which has been

preserved as the country’s first “mall”. Across from the

museum is Eastview Mall, the area’s largest shopping mall

with over 180 stores and restaurants.

Overlooking Victor you’ll find Ganondagan, once a bustling

Seneca Native American village, and New York State’s only

park dedicated to the history and culture of Native

Americans.

Victor maintains nine parks throughout the area, a 43-mile

network of trails connecting to other Finger Lakes trails, and

five public and private golf courses.

Shortsville/Manchester

The two villages of Shortsville and Manchester are close inlocation and rich in history. Both villages enjoy life in acaring community surrounded by natural beauty, music, learning and recreation along the Canandaigua Outlet wherepicnicking and playing go hand in hand.

Shortsville has a long list of historical contributions. Oncethe gateway for early fur traders who navigated the manystreams that would transverse the land, Shortsville would besettled in 1804 by Theophilus Short. Originally referred to asShort Mill, the rushing waters of the Canandaigua outletwould provide enough power to maintain four kinds of mills(flour, paper, woolen and a distillery).

Manchester started as a small quiet mill town, but the1890s saw the arrival of the Lehigh Valley Railroad andManchester became a division point with a round house, icehouse and rail yard.

When you visit these villages you can enjoy the historicDepot Restaurant, the infamous Buffalo Bills Restaurant,McDonald’s and, for after dinner, Sweet Blessings Bakery’sdesserts for your pleasure.
