non-PERISHABLE FOOD do-nations will be delivered to the franklin
and Mechanicville community centers. Thank you for all your help!
For more information please contact the Saratoga County Kids Care

SHARE THE BEAUTY OF
YOUR COMMUNITY
WITH A FRESH AIR CHILD THIS
SUMMERCAPITAL DISTRICT - This sum-mer, share the beauty of your
community with a Fresh Air child while enjoying the pure joys of
summer in your own backyard! Thousands of vol-unteer host families
in rural, suburban, and small town communities across 13 states
from Virginia to Maine and Canada open their hearts and homes to
New York City chil-dren from low-income com-munities through The
Fresh Air Funds Volunteer Host Family program. The Fresh Air Fund,
an independent, not-for-profit agency, has provided free summer
expe-riences to more than 1.8 mil-lion New York City children from
low-income communi-ties since 1877. Host families open their homes
to children who might not otherwise be able to enjoy a summer away
from New York City. Fresh Air children experience simple pleasures
like running barefoot through the grass, swimming in a cool lake,
and gazing at star-filled skies. Through the eyes of Fresh Air
children, families often rediscover the beauty of their own
communities. For more information on how you can make summer
special for a Fresh Air child, contact Ten-niel Hansen at
518-441-4407 or visit The Fresh Air Fund at www.freshair.org.

FDR FIRESIDE CHAT
AT CAMPFIRE PROGRAM
STILLWATER - On Saturday 14 June 2014 at 7:00 p.m., Saratoga
National Historical Park hosts actor Gary Stamm as he portrays
President Franklin D. Roosevelt in a real fireside chat describing
a 1939 royal visit from the King and Queen of Britain and the
fascinating implica-tions it had for our country and the entire
world. What do you serve to the King and Queen of Britain if they
come to visit your home? In 1939, President Franklin Roosevelt took
them on a picnic in the scenic Hudson Valley and served the great
American treat of hot dogs. Mr. Stamm really brings Roosevelt to
life, notes park ranger Joe Craig. Franklin Roosevelt played a
vital role as Governor of New York and President of the United
States, in preserving Sara-toga Battlefield. The event is presented
by the Friends of Saratoga Battlefield, and is free of charge to
the public at the Battlefield Visitor Center. Please bring a lawn
chair and insect repellant. Saratoga Na-tional Historical Park
offers a variety of programs throughout the year. For more
information about this or other events, please call the Visitor
Center at 518-670-2985 or check our website at www.nps.gov/sara our

One of our Southern rescue coordinators took these pups from a
home on the side of the railroad track.
They are helping the owner get the Mom spayed and
we got the beautiful pups. They are about 9-10 weeks
old and have had first shots, wormed and have
been vet checked.
These are some very cute little babies. They are
about 10 weeks old and have come from a high kill shelter in the
South. They have had their first set of shots, wormed, and have
been vet checked.
This beautiful girl was most likely part of a TNR program. She
lost her home when her mother developed cancer. She is a LOVE!!!

up to date on shots and ready to find a forever home. For
