EU Carbon Capture and Storage Call for Proposals

Call for Proposals for Innovative Renewable Energy and Carbon Capture and Storage Projects

• The NER300 programme will use proceeds from the sale of 300 million emissions allowances under the New Entrants Reserve to invest in commercial demonstration projects of carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) and innovative renewable energy technologies.

UK Start-up Funding Programme

Greensand Ridge Rural Business Fund

• The funding for rural businesses is provided by the Greensand Ridge Local Action Group with funding through the Rural Development Plan for England and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). A total of £1.5m is available for investment in start-up and existing businesses in the Greensand Ridge Programme area (covering rural parts of Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire).

UK Innovation Awards and Grants

Building for the Future – Innovation Awards for Collaborative R&D

• The University of Sheffield is launching a scheme to work with UK based SMEs in the area of `Building for the Future'. Up to 10 Innovation Awards of £5k will be made available to initiate Collaborative R&D projects and give SMEs the opportunity to access research expertise and facilities.

• Grant Type: Research & Development • Amount: £50,000 fund value • Geographic Focus: United Kingdom • Deadline: 21st January 2011

Oregon Wave Energy Grants

Oregon Wave Energy Hydropower Grants

• Recently OWET announced an industry matching grant program for developing wave energy projects in Oregon. The $500,000 matching program is available for developers interested in getting projects in the water off the Oregon Coast.

• The program has been divided into two funding pools: $300,000 for commercial scale development and $200,000 for feasibility studies. Funds will be available until April 30, 2011 or until all funds have been committed.

• Grant Type: Installation Projects • Amount: $500,000 • Geographic Focus: US • Deadline: 30th April 2011

Bando Nazionale - Innovazione, Miglioramento Competitivo, Tutela Ambientale

• Sono stati pubblicati in Gazzetta Ufficiale i tre decreti del Ministero dello sviluppo economico che fissano le procedure per l’erogazione di 500 milioni di euro a favore delle imprese localizzate in Sicilia, Campania, Puglia e Calabria, che effettuano investimenti produttivi innovativi, per la ricerca e le energie rinnovabili.

Low Carbon Skills Fund

• The Low Carbon Skills Fund is provided by Skills Development Scotland with funding through the Scottish Government and the European Social Fund. The fund has been established to support the sustainability and growth of businesses in the renewable energy, energy efficiency and carbon reduction sectors by part-funding training which meets business priorities. A total of £585,000 is available, which will fund around 650 training opportunities.
