Classification of sclerodermas

• Localized sclerodermas• Morhpea

• Linear scleroderma

• Overlap syndromes (with SLE, myositis)

• Scleroderma-like syndromes• Eosinophilic fasciitis

• Scleromyxedema

• Chronic graft versus host

• Drug-induced (bleomycin, toxic oil, tryptophan)

Classification of sclerodermas

• Localized sclerodermas• Morhpea

• Linear scleroderma

• Overlap syndromes (with SLE, myositis)

• Scleroderma-like syndromes

• Systemic sclerosis• Diffuse cutaneous scleroderma• Limited cutaneous scleroderma• CREST syndrome

Diffuse vs Limited Scleroderma-- Definitions

• Diffuse cutaneous scleroderma:– Thick skin distal AND proximal to elbows and knees,

with or without the face (widespread, or diffuse, skin thickening).

• Limited cutaneous scleroderma:– Thick skin distal, but NOT proximal, to elbows and

knees, with or without the face (limited skin thickening)

(diffuse scleroderma)
