including the magnificent 18th-
century residence of the prince-

Some of the architectural highlights
include the old Town Hall. You will
also see the Porta Praetoria - built in
179 AD, it is one of only two
remaining Roman gates in Germany.
Next, view the first stone bridge built
over the Danube, a 1,400-foot-long
span built in the 12th century. This
afternoon, take a stroll through the old
town. In the late evening your ship

Day 6: Saturday, September 26, 2015 Passau - Linz Wake this morning
surrounded by scenic valleys and
charming riverside towns en route to
Passau, set at the confluence of the
Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers. Enjoy a
leisurely-paced walking tour of this
2,000-year-old fairytale city,
exploring the ornate Baroque
architecture, the quaint cobblestone

Experience It! Prince Bishops' Residence The historic palace in Würzburg was the residence of the former prince-bishops.
The stately structure was created in the 18th century and is an elegant blend of
Baroque and Rococo styles. Be amazed by its famous feat of engineering – an
elaborately decorated and completely unsupported vaulted staircase. Another
highpoint is the unique Mirror Cabinet. The walls are made entirely of glass
panels covered with paintings and gold engraved drawings. Surrounding the
stunning palace are the dramatic Court Gardens. The elaborate gardens are
designed to dazzle at every turn.

Cabins are available on lower, middle and upper decks. Please note that river cruises are smaller ships and only have a finite number of each cabin category available. Specific categories are available on a first come, first served basis. Every effort will be made to accommodate your cabin choice at time of booking; however, if that cabin category is no longer available, the closest available category will be offered. Please see pricing for cost of any upgrade fees which will apply for different cabin categories. Suites (Amadeus Suites) and singles are available on a very limited basis. Triple accommodations are not available.
Ice water, coffee or tea is included with all meals. Wine is included with each dinner on-board the ship. Smart casual wear is recommended throughout the trip. For the welcome and farewell dinners, a dinner dress for the ladies and jacket and tie for the gentlemen is recommended. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended throughout the trip. Gratuities for cabin stewards, bus boys and waiters on board the ship are not included.
This tour requires average physical activity. You should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, possibly over uneven grounds and cobblestone streets.
Due to tour scheduling flights must arrive prior to 4:00 PM. Embarkation on day 4 is after 4:00 PM; on day 11, disembarkation is normally at 9:00 AM. Return flights should not be booked prior to 10:00 AM on the last day of your tour. An early morning departure from the cruise ship may be required due to air schedules to some U.S. and Canadian cities.
Air passengers will arrive into the Frankfurt, Germany airport and depart from the Budapest, Hungary airport. All transfers will depart from/return to these airports.
Air rate and schedule are applicable for groups of 10 or more traveling on the same flights and dates.

Bratislava
Imperial Festival Palace - Castle Hof $60 USD
Only a short hour’s drive from Vienna is the Slovakian capital of Bratislava. Here you will find the fascinating
baroque architectural marvel, the Palace Hof Imperial Festival. Baroque wonders fill the imperial castles of the
Marchfeld, which were erected for Prince Eugen of Savoy in the 18th century and later expanded by Maria Theresia
and the Viennese Court to become Austria’s largest ensemble of country castles. The Hof Castle had also been known
as the site of splendid events since its construction in 1726. Here, wood turners, basket weavers, and pewter smiths
practiced their crafts, races of rare pets such as Wallachian sheep or white donkeys are held, and a jam kitchen and
distillery take care of bodily comforts. Even organic fruits and vegetables are cultivated here and can be tasted during

Esztergom
Esztergom-Szentendre $55 USD
Esztergom, the former residence of the Hungarian kings and seat of the Archbishop, is one of the highlights of this
excursion. Your tour starts with a visit of the vast domed basilica, the largest cathedral in Hungary. Built in the early
19th century, it incorporates an ornate red marble chapel from an earlier church. Continue along the Danube to the
imposing ruined fortress of Visegrad for a glorious view of the “knee” of the Danube. Then drive along the banks of
the Danube to the artists’ village of Szentendre, a charming little town with two main churches showing signs of
Serbian Orthodox influence and brightly painted Baroque houses in the town center. Szentendre has developed as a
center for ceramics, thanks to the influence of the local artist Margit Kovacs, who lived from 1920 to 1977. Continue
south to Budapest along the scenic west bank of the River Danube. Duration: Approximately 5 hours. Please note a

Emmersdorf
Excursion Wachau including Melk Abbey and Wine Tasting $77 USD
Melk Abbey is an Austrian Benedictine abbey and one of the world's most famous monastic sites. Today's impressive
Baroque abbey was built between 1702 and 1736 and has a lovely church and impressive library with countless
medieval manuscripts and frescos. A guided tour takes you through the abbot’s chambers, along the imperator’s walk,
through the marble hall, the balconies and the library. Then, depending on availability, there might be an opportunity
to hear an organ recital in the abbey church. Continue to Duernstein, one of the best-known wine villages in the
Wachau. Situated in the heart of the magnificent valley, on the banks of the mighty river Danube, the charming town
offers the unique combination of a breathtaking scenery, traditional architecture, and places of historic interest. A walk
through it allows you to appreciate its glorious position. End the tour with a glass of wine in a local restaurant.

Regensburg
The Weltenburg Monastery $71 USD
A coach brings you towards Weltenburg, with a brief detour to the “Hall of Liberation,” a historical classical
monument upon Mount Michelsberg above the city of Kelheim. This impressive marble building was fashioned after
the Parthenon in Athens and towers high above the Danube. Afterwards board an excursion boat, which takes you past
the former city of the Wittelsbacher through the nature reserve ”Weltenburger Enge” to the Benedictine abbey of
Weltenburg. The monastery, founded by Irish or Scottish monks in about 620 AD, is the oldest monastery in Bavaria.
After a short tour of the abbey church, you can taste the famous dark beer of Weltenburg, which is brewed on site in
the oldest monastery brewery in the world. Duration: Approximately 5 hours. Please note a minimum of 1
