When the economic activity depends mainly on exploitation of natural resources then that activity comes under the primary sector. Agriculture and agriculture related activities are the primary sectors of economy.
2 - Secondary SectorActivities which transform natural or primary products into some manufacturing products are termed as secondary activities or industrial activities. The process of manufacturing may be performed in a factory, a workshop or at home.
3 – Tertiary Sector (Service sector)Activities which provide support services to the
primary and secondary activities are termed as tertiary activities. Transport , storage, communication, banking, trade are some example of tertiary activities. since these activities generate services rather than goods, the tertiary sector is also called the tertiary sector.
