Brochure Making Project Title: “Spring traditions around the world”
With an objective to
learn beyond books
foster creativity
develop ICT skills
organizational skills
presentation
learn to develop problem solving
Around the world, people celebrate the end of the
dismal winter weather with unique festivals and
traditions. Some date back thousands of years and
others are relatively new. While Hindus are celebrating
Holi and Christians are observing Easter, it's important
to remember that the dawning of spring has been
observed for a long time in many other cultures as well.
Traditions vary widely from one country to the next.
From exploding snowmen to flower festivals, find out
how cultures around the world celebrate the start of the
spring season.
Explore the celebration in the below mentioned
countries and compile the information in a Creative
Brochure. (Each group should explore at least four
countries from the given list):
1. Canada
2. Thailand
3. India
4. Iran
5. Egypt
6. Italy
7. Ireland
8. Bulgaria
Few online Resources that can be explored for the project are as follows:
NOTE: 1. Maintain one notebook and write down 5 new German words from the dictionary and make sentences as well.
2. Converse in German at home.

INTRODUCTION:
We plant flowers primarily for their beauty and fragrance but they have many other benefits. By planting and caring for flowers, we help improve our surroundings, reduce pollution, improve the appearance of our community and increase the value of our property. Flower gardens combine plants of different heights, colors, textures, and fragrances to create interest and delight the senses.
GUIDELINES TO PREPARE A POT WITH FLOWER SEEDS OF DIFFERENT COUNTRIES
To sow the seeds of a flower of USA, JAPAN,CHINA AND INDIA.
Mix equal proportions of red soil, manure, garden soil, and sand from which larger stones have been removed.
Fill three-fourth of the pot with this mixture.
Place one or two seeds in the pot, inserted to a depth which equals the size of the seed.
Keep the pot in a shady place away from direct sunlight.
Sprinkle with water regularly to keep the soil moist, preferably in the mornings and evenings.
Wait for the tiny seedling to sprout.
Weeds should be removed as and when they appear.
Observe and record observation of its growth in the observation table.
Decorate the pot and submit it to your science teacher.
Teacher`s Tip:
