Activity 1: Recalling prev. learning

Purpose: To recall what you learned in the previous class.

Instructions:

1. What did you learn in the last class?

2. What are some useful expressions that you remember from the last class?

3. What are some words that are difficult for you to remember?

4. How would you describe what your partner is doing.

Activity 2: warm up.Purpose: to engage students in a new day of class.

• Lip readingBring a student to the front but command them to remain absolutely silent at all times during the game. Reveal a flashcard/sentence on paper to them. They must try to silently say it to the rest of the class- who are trying to guess what it is.

• I am taking English classes everyday at night at Centro cultural Salvadoreno.

• My wife is preparing the food and waiting for me at home.

• My brother is making homework at home.

• We are not coming to class the next Friday and Saturday.

• I am working very hard tomorrow morning.

Activity 3: What I am doing during the day.

• Work individually.

• Write down in a piece of paper what you do during the day.

• Describe your day as if you were doing the activities right now.

• Hand it to the teacher.

• Avoid spelling mistakes.

• I wake up a 5 am. In the morning. The first thing I am doing at that time is taking a shower. I have to wait that my mother gets out of the bathroom because she wakes up earlier than me. Like around 7 AM. I am having my breakfast once I finish with it have to go to my job. While I am driving to my work place I am also taking a cup of coffee. When I arrive to my job I check on the messages left in the phone. I am getting out of my job at 5 pm. And I am arriving home like at 9 pm. Just after taking English classes.

Activity 4: useful phrasespurpose: To show empathy by helping to choose clothes.

• Look at the picture and circle the type of clothe that you can see in the picture.

• Listen read and repeat the dialogue pg. 76

• Check on the useful expressions and write down how says those phrases.

• Make up your own conversation with the cases in exercise 4 pg. 76

Purpose: to recall and summarize what was leaned in today’s session.

• Match the pictures with the words.

• Look at the pictures and ask and answer questions about the pictures.

• Check on some uses of get.

• Recall the uses for present progressive.
