The meetings this past quarter were quite suc- cessful with an above average attendance, requiring us to close regis- tration several times due to reaching the venue’s maximum capacity. This is directly related to the great programming that our Vice- President Kameron Boggan pulled together for us this year. The next few months are shaping up to be quite exciting for our branch! We have yet another interesting speaker planned for our June meeting at Reata for the last standard branch meeting of this year’s board. Our annual joint meeting with the Dallas branch in July will follow. We are hosting the joint meeting this year and are making a few adjustments to the operations of the meeting, the biggest being a change in venue. We are hosting the joint meeting at UTA as a way to further engage our student chapter at a university that is co- sponsored by both branches, while maintaining a central location that is key to good participation from both the Fort Worth and Dallas branches. Several sponsorship opportunities will be available for the joint meeting so be on the lookout for these in the coming weeks. As this year’s board calendar comes to an end it is the time of year that we begin thinking about our branch’s future leaders. I, like so many board members before me, would like to encourage everyone to think about becoming more involved. With ASCE, like so many other things in life, the more you give the more you will receive. By volun- teering with ASCE you have a great opportunity to develop both per- sonally and professionally while creating a great professional network of friends and colleagues. If you are interested in becoming more in- volved please feel free to reach out to either myself of Niraj Acharya, and we will help find a place for you within ASCE. Lastly, I would like to encourage all members to visit our website (http://branches.asce.org/ft-worth/). In the resources section you can find copies of PDH certificates for past meetings you attended. Sincerely, Austin Baird, P.E., M. ASCE vol. 12 iss. 3 Fort Worth Branch ASCE Newsletter

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
It’s hard to believe that this year has flown by so quickly and that my
term as president is coming to an end with just two meetings remain-
ing in this board year. The meetings this past quarter were quite suc-
cessful with an above average attendance, requiring us to close regis-
tration several times due to reaching the venue’s maximum capacity.
This is directly related to the great programming that our Vice-
President Kameron Boggan pulled together for us this year.
The next few months are shaping up to be quite exciting for our
branch! We have yet another interesting speaker planned for our
June meeting at Reata for the last standard branch meeting of this
year’s board. Our annual joint meeting with the Dallas branch in July
will follow. We are hosting the joint meeting this year and are making
a few adjustments to the operations of the meeting, the biggest being
a change in venue. We are hosting the joint meeting at UTA as a way
to further engage our student chapter at a university that is co-
sponsored by both branches, while maintaining a central location that
is key to good participation from both the Fort Worth and Dallas
branches. Several sponsorship opportunities will be available for the
joint meeting so be on the lookout for these in the coming weeks.
As this year’s board calendar comes to an end it is the time of year
that we begin thinking about our branch’s future leaders. I, like so
many board members before me, would like to encourage everyone to
think about becoming more involved. With ASCE, like so many other
things in life, the more you give the more you will receive. By volun-
teering with ASCE you have a great opportunity to develop both per-
sonally and professionally while creating a great professional network
of friends and colleagues. If you are interested in becoming more in-
volved please feel free to reach out to either myself of Niraj Acharya,
and we will help find a place for you within ASCE.
Lastly, I would like to encourage all members to visit our website
(http://branches.asce.org/ft-worth/). In the resources section you can
find copies of PDH certificates for past meetings you attended.
