CITY HALL OPEN CALL Cabinet Details The cabinet in City Hall dates back to circa 1780, and was originally housed in BrigadierGeneral Alfred Douglas Miller’s old Georgian house in London. It was purchased in 1933 by Charles B. Pike, a Chicagoan businessman, who ten years later in 1943 donated the cabinet to the Chicago Historical Society. The cabinet is made of mahogany wood and has five sections with glass doors. The center of the pediment features a plaster bust of Marcus Tullius Cicero (10643 B.C.). These historical details were provided by the Chicago History Museum.
