Last year, the Association was able to donate over $6000 to scholarships and sponsorships from funds raised at the tournaments. They donated to Umatilla High School sports teams, Trick-or-Treat on 6th Street, Umatilla High School Booster Club, Umatilla Museum and Historical Foundation, Domestic Violence Services, Guardian Care Center, Umatilla Little League, and to the Ellwood Family. This is the only fundraiser the Association conducts throughout the year, and being able to disperse funds back to the community is an amazing accomplishment. The Association is looking for prize donations, such as gift cards, products or service vouchers. Donations of any capacity are appreciated. Umatilla Landing Days U matilla Landing Days is THE event for Umatilla
and justifiably so – Umatilla is the oldest
community still in existence in Eastern Oregon and
was once the county seat for Umatilla County.
Celebrating the heritage of our community is important
to the citizens of Umatilla and always has great
attendance from citizens and people from outside the
community alike.
This year’s Umatilla Landing Days is June 21st and
June 23rd. Parking will cost 5 dollars each day. The
festivities kick off on Friday, June 21st with the Beer
Garden and Food Vendors at the Umatilla Marina Park
at 5:00 p.m., followed by live performances by Grupo
Viajero at 6:00 p.m. and Krome at 8:00 p.m.
On Saturday morning, check-in for the parade starts at
9:15 a.m. at the Corner of “L” Street and 7th Street.
Line up begins on 8th Street. Once the parade gets
underway, it winds its way downtown, turning south
on Switzler Avenue and ending at the high school.
Entrants will be announced from City Hall.
Saturday afternoon is scheduled with all sorts for stage
performances, including folkloric dancers, dancing
horses, Gems Cheer, and others. At 5 p.m. Trespasser
will be opening for headliner, Leah Justine, who will
begin her performance at 8 p.m.
If you would like to volunteer for any other part of
Landing Days – clean-up, set-up, vendor assistance,
boat rides or anything else you can think of, please call

program called “Leap into
Science” starting June 1st 2019.
This program is targeted for
children aged 3-10. Each year the
program revolves around a science
concept, this year it will be wind.
This program was designed to build
interest and skills in science and
literature. We will be having story
time, and fun crafts and activities.
Come think like a scientist with us!
Also in June come meet some of
the birds of prey (raptors) from the
Blue Mountain Wildlife
Rehabilitation & Education Center.
This event is free of charge, but
they do accept donations of
supplies they use at the
rehabilitation center. This includes
dawn dish soap, paper towels, toilet
paper, puppy pee pads and more.

The City of Umatilla is looking for ideas for a parks and recreation tagline and logo.
The City tagline may be used on official documents, websites, city flags, official city
pins, business cards, letterhead, awards, and other formal places.
The City of Umatilla Parks and Recreation tagline should be positive, and indicative of
the community and lifestyle of Umatilla. It should capture what Umatilla means to you.
City tagline can define a community, so we are looking for only the best ideas to define
our community.
The winning tagline and logo will be used by the City of Umatilla. The creators of the winning tagline and
logo will receive $50.00 each and recognition during an upcoming City Council meeting.

Senior & Disabled Transit Service
S tarting January 1, 2019, the City of Umatilla has
been providing a taxi program for senior and
disabled City residents who meet qualifications of the
program. Eligibility for this program is limited to
residents of the City who are either; a senior of 62
years or older, or a resident of any age who is eligible
for disability under Social Security, PERS, other state
or private disability or Workman’s comp. Residents
wishing to purchase tickets for the taxi program will be
purchasing them at a reduced rate of $8 per ticket for a
one way trip to Hermiston. Taxi will be able to provide
transportation from any point within City limits of
Hermiston or Umatilla. Tickets may be purchased at
Umatilla City Hall, 700 6th Street, Umatilla, OR 97882
or Hermiston City Hall, 180 NE 2nd Street, Hermiston,
OR 97838. For more information on rider rules and
regulations, ticket program or ticket purchase please
come to Umatilla City Hall where we will be happy to
assist you, or call (541) 922-3226x108.
Umatilla Museum The Museum’s main event will be
their participation in the Landing
Days event put on by the Chamber
of Commerce.
The second event they are doing is
a Diorama Contest for grade levels
5 –8 and 9-12. Prizes for grade
levels 5-8 are: $75 for Frist Place,
$50 for Second Place, and $25 for
Third Place. Prizes for grade levels
9-12 are: $100 for First Place, $75
for Second Place, and $50 for Third
Place.
The monies will come from the
sale of raffle tickets for donations
from numerous restaurants and
diners from our community. The
Museum appreciates their devotion
to the students and our schools
There will be a panel of judges
from the Museum, Chamber of
Commerce, and City Hall. The
winning Dioramas for the 2
divisions will be displayed at the
booth for Landing Days and at the
Museum for the season.

Asociación de Oficiales de
Policía de Umatilla organizará un
torneo de golf para cuatro personas.
El año pasado, la Asociación pudo
donar más de $6000 a becas y
patrocinios de fondos recaudados en
los torneos. Hicieron donaciones a
los equipos deportivos de la escuela
secundaria de Umatilla , Trick-or-
Treat en la calle 6, el Club de
refuerza para la escuela secundaria de
Umatilla, Museo y Fundación
Histórica de Umatilla, Servicios de
Violencia Doméstica, Guardian Care
Center, Umatilla Little League y la
familia Ellwood.
Este es el único evento para recaudar
fondos que la Asociación lleva a cabo

El Distrito Escolar de Umatilla será anfitrión de su Programa de Servicio de Alimentos de Verano. Los niños
y adolescentes de 1 a 18 años recibirán comidas gratis. Se llevarán a cabo del 24 de junio al 16 de agosto, de

Umatilla Landing Days U matilla Landing Days es EL evento de Umatilla y, con
razón, Umatilla es la comunidad más antigua que aún
existe en el este de Oregón y fue la sede del condado de
Umatilla. Celebrar el patrimonio de nuestra comunidad es

El sábado por la mañana, el registro de entrada para el
desfile comienza a las 9:15 a.m. en la esquina de la calle "L"
y la calle 7. La alineación comienza en la calle 8. Una vez
que el desfile comienza, se dirige hacia el centro de la
ciudad, gira hacia el sur en Switzler Avenue y termina en la
escuela secundaria. Los participantes serán anunciados
desde el Ayuntamiento.
El sábado por la tarde está programado con todo tipo de
actuaciones en el escenario, incluidos bailarines folklóricos,
caballos danzantes, Gems Cheer y otros. A las 5 pm.

A partir del 1 de enero de 2019, la Ciudad de Umatilla ha
estado proporcionando un programa de taxis para los

Museo de Umatilla
El evento principal del Museo será su
participación en el evento Landing Days
organizado por la Cámara de Comercio.
El segundo evento que están haciendo es
un Concurso de Diorama para los niveles
de grado 5 –8 y 9-12. Los premios para los
niveles de grado 5-8 son: $ 75 para Frist
Place, $ 50 para el Segundo Lugar y $ 25
para el Tercer Lugar. Los premios para los
niveles de grado 9-12 son: $ 100 para el
primer lugar, $ 75 para el segundo lugar y
$ 50 para el tercer lugar.
El dinero provendrá de la venta de boletos
para la rifa de donaciones de numerosos
restaurantes y comensales de nuestra
comunidad. El Museo aprecia su
dedicación a los estudiantes y nuestras
escuelas. Habrá un panel de jueces del
Museo, la Cámara de Comercio y el
Ayuntamiento. Los Dioramas ganadores
para las 2 divisiones se mostrarán en el
stand de Landing Days y en el Museo para
la temporada.
