WCAB Purpose

• Assess conditions in the Watershed

• Gather necessary information and data…to develop Plan

• Involve stakeholders

• Present Plan to City Council for adoption

Mission

• Preserve and maximize quality and quantity of water available to the City

• Enhance wetlands and stream banks• Protect and enhance wildlife habitat• Protect aquifers and wellheads• Establish sustainable tree harvest program• Understand the watershed ecosystem• Evaluate expansion of watershed size

Lafayette Fire Training Plan

• Time Frame - June 2003• Purpose

– Consistency with Watershed Plan

– Management of equipment during a timber/brush fire, I

– Identification of staging areas

– Conduct supervised burns of debris piles and extinguishing the piles

– Preparing trails for firefighters to move through the Watershed quickly.
